I had very little light taking this little guy. The sun was behind the trees in the forest and the shade made the shots challenging...besides that...he kept wanting to get closer and closer...expecting a handout.
A red squirrel eating snow on a pear branch. Not bad for taking the photo through a window. We tried to crank it open for just the lens to fit through but the squirrel heard us and took off so this is the best I could do.
Today is Squirrel Appreication Day so i am reposting this photo of my squirrel Tom Foolery my favorite backyard friend!
It is National Squirrel Appriecation Day this Sat...Jan 21
Squirrel Appreciation Day is an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate your tree climbing, nut gathering neighborhood squirrels. It's held in mid-winter when food source...s are scarce for squirrels and other wildlife. Sure, squirrels spent all fall gathering and "squirreling " away food. But, their supplies may not be enough. And, the variety of food is limited. So, give them an extra special treat today to supplement their winter diets....so put out some nuts for God's little creatures this weekend. :)
The squirrels were out today, getting ready for winter. My Beagle did his best in excercising them up the trees. Taken with K-5 and 55-300mm.
Location: Kings Lynn, Norfolk
Once I had been there an hour they got used to me and they got quite close

A repost from long ago. Not getting out to take any new images, so this will have to do. This was taken only one month into shooting with my new DSLR Sony A-100 six years ago.
