I decided to try an experiment with these shirts. I got cheap sheer polyester ($1.99 per yard) and stretched it in an embroidery hoop. I coated it with diazo and let it dry. Burned the screen in the sun and rinsed it. I printed it using an old credit card as a squeegee! Very cheap silk screening!

At the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, the seals of American Trail are ready to splash down and make their big debut ! To help the seals acclimate to their new surroundings, animal care staff added 24,000 pounds of salt to the 125,000 gallon pool last week. Yesterday, three gray seals—Gunther, Kara and Kjya—and two harbor seals—Luke and Squeegee—entered the water together for the first time and explored their new digs. Visitors can view the seals up close and watch training and feeding demonstrations at 11:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. every day. The Zoo’s elderly gray seal, Selkie, is expected to join the other seals in the coming weeks. To follow the latest updates, follow the Zoo on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #PinnipedParty.

I realized there was a gap in my Flickr presence where my theater photography should be, so I'm filling it with some of my older stuff. This is a year and a half old and from the Slocum Theater Comedy Festival in Summer 2011.
The group pictured is Sideburns and they live in the Portland area. This hilarious group asks the audience for an invention with an unknown or probably unusual origin story, then create a Ken Burns style documentary on that invention. For example, the night we were there featured the invention of the squeegee. Did I even spell that right? Does anyone even know how to spell that? Whatever, the scraping thing that you use to wipe windows. Squeeee, geeeee. Hilarious.

I love the fact that the headlight wipers are little brushes. Usually, headlight wipers are little squeegees. Church of the Holy Donut Sunday morning meet, Burtonsville, MD, July 22, 2018.
They invite those who have never skanked before on stage for this song...Music started at 5:30 and lasted until 9:30. I got there too late to see SUBURBS VS CITIES and PLAYGROUND AUTHORITY. Sorry. I had dinner at Mountain Mike's Pizza during SOL and Captain Squeegee. I tried to skank at full speed and had muscle cramps after I got home. Being old is only better than the alternative.
Next, goop on the paint. You don't need a lot - one spoonful will do several prints. Once the paint is on the screen, it's time to squeegee!

Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord Printing
If you’re looking for lanyards for your business, event or as promotional goods we have a number of types of Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord to choose from. Each is made from polyester, but the way the Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord is made differs, depending on the final finish you are looking for.
Flat polyester lanyards are some of the most popular in our range. The polyester is woven into a long length, which is then cut using a hot knife that seals the cut ends to prevent fraying. You can personalize the Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord by choosing the color of the material. Your own logo and artwork can be printed onto the Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord to customize it using the advance printing technique. The benefit of the flat polyester Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord is that you can choose a width of up to 25mm, giving you a broad canvas on which to promote your company / Organization.
Flat weave lanyards are manufactured from high quality polyester and customized using your artwork and text, which is woven into the Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord rather than printed. This makes it perfect for harsh environments, where the Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord is likely to be subject to heavy wear and tear.
If you’re looking for a more economical choice, choose our tubular polyester lanyard. They are made from the same high quality polyester as our standard lanyards but the material is tube stitched. These lanyards can also be advance printed techniques with your own logo.
For a more luxurious finish, the satin woven lanyards are made using a finer weave, which gives a smooth, shiny finish. Once again, your logo and choice of text can be printed onto the Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord to personalize it to your business or event.
Advance printing is a technique used on the majority of our custom lanyards. This is an age-old technique that uses ink and a stencil, supported by a woven mesh. Ink is moved across the advance using a squeegee-type blade, forcing the ink through the open mesh and onto the material beneath. To create images with multiple colors, it’s necessary to create layers as only one color can be printed at a time. Many items of clothing are printed using our advance print technique.
If you have multi-colored logos and/or want to include vibrant images with a photo-quality resolution, a dye sublimation Lanyard / Ribbon / Strip / Rope / Cord would be the perfect choice. Dye sublimation is a method of computerized printing that uses a combination of heat and pressure to permanently transfer dyes into the fabric as a gas, which then solidifies and becomes part of the fiber of the lanyard.

Class: Learn to Screen Print weekend workshop!
Date: Sunday, March 2, 2008
Time: 1:00pm-6:30pm
Location: Etsy Labs, 325 Gold Street 6th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
Description:
Screen Printing is a simple and effective way to produce an unlimited number of virtually identical prints onto practically any surface. A screen fabric is stretched tightly onto a wooden frame and is coated with a photosensitive material. Part of the screen is then blocked with a stencil and is exposed through a photo process leaving your image on the screen. When ink is deposited onto the screen, it is pushed through with a squeegee leaving the image on the printing surface which may be a T-shirt, paper, glass, plastic, or just about anything.
In this class you will learn all of the steps involved in the screen printing process from design conception to the finished product.

Out for a walk around the beltline area on my birthday, this young lad was washing windows...thought it'd make an interesting reflection shot if anything.
The discharge is where the bloke is standing on the left. The mould return empty to the middle of the plant where they are filled and either go through a mould turnover to empty them out and form a shell, or are shelled by having chocolate displaced by a frozen plunger. The moulds are then cooled and at the end of the plant, the liquid centre is pumped into the chocolate shell. It is then cooled and at the last section on the left, the moulds have chocolate poured over them and this is "backed off", sort of squeegeed off and the now completed moulds are cooled, turned upside down and the product shaken out onto the discharge conveyor and off to the wrapping machines.

This one is a little 70's mod meets country crafts. My mind is on "what is style?" right now. There's is so much "duck art" in the region where I work, to the point of cliché. My challenge is to take some of those elements that the community here in northern Minnesota where I work is comfortable with and give them a cooler, hipper look.

Montblanc Great Characters Andy Warhol writing instrument.
The Great Characters Edition Andy Warhol is paying tribute to one of the major proponents of the Pop Art Movement. With his striking works, Andy Warhol broke down the barriers between ‘high art’ and ‘commercial art’ and made a sensation turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. The complementary contrast between the cobalt blue precious resin of the barrel and the narrow orange rings on the cone and forepart reflect the colour variations in Warhol’s Colored Campbell’s Soup can series from 1965, which are also carefully worked into the stainless steel cap. A dollar sign is finely engraved on the handcrafted, rhodium-coated gold nib of the fountain pen, while the squeegee he used in silkscreen printing is captured in the design of the clip. The cap ring of the edition is adorned with an engraving of Warhol’s signature.

11/09/2025. Cuxton, UK. The Princess of Wales during a visit to the Marina Mill in Cuxton, Kent, a family business that specialises in hand designing and screen- printing furnishing fabrics. The Princess spent time with Design Director Tandine Rawkins, and observed how she free-hand sketches all the artwork for every design. Her Royal Highness then moved to the printing room and had the opportunity to take part in screen-printing a design on fabric by pushing coloured dyes through an engraved silk-screen using a squeegee. The Princess also observed the last step in the production process where the printed fabric is fed through a conveyor oven, which heat-fixes the print to the basecloth.
