#birdsongs #cagedbird #parrot #iphoneonly I framed this iphone pic via #squareready app to accommodate for Instagram.

This parrot belongs to a friend of mine...what a personality! It is smart, observant, talented...talks, dances, sings, does tricks...

#MobileArtistry is creative edits, beautiful images, unique perspectives, stellar shots, and happy accidents. IE, stuff you won't find on the pop page.

Through this ongoing project we hope to expose people to art and artists they may not normally get to see, learn about one another's process, and encourage each other to push the limits of creativity.

Tonight's submission is from Suzanne, aka @_suz4nne_, let's hear about her process.

MANY thanks to the good folks at @mobileartistry for asking me to share an image with you here today! Here's a bit about my editing process for this one, and for some of the others in the series I'm working on with screenshots taken from video:

This "still" is indeed from a short, monochrome film I made while walking in downtown San Francisco last year. (I used the Lens+ app and my iPhone 4S to shoot.) I came across the file when I was cleaning out my roll recently, and on a whim—just began to take screenshots from different scenes. I was really drawn to what I was getting! For this image specifically, I used a screenshot that caught the "fading out" of this scene before it moved into the next one. That movement from the film function alone, pulled the subject back into the screen here and gave me lots of space to work with—a natural segue to Decim8! I wanted some color with this one, and because the base image is monochrome, I knew I needed to add that. I used #squareready to give it a thin red border. After that, into #decim8 these three urban musketeers went. The finished image is a blended one of three decim8ed edits using the "glassdagger" effect only (which I think yielded results highlighting the angles of a street scene so well). Per usual practice, I took the image into #Snapseed to bump up the contrast and colo(u)r a bit. And—voilà! @_suz4nne_

This edit will join the others in the tag #_suzanne_moving_pictures

_suz4nne_: (This is how, my dear  @wunderali) 

wunderali: Ah! Cool! Thanks for sharing! I tried decim8 once...it totally intimidated me. But you inspire me to try again.

poppybay: @_suz4nne_ Congrats! This is such a succulent pop-art piece. Life in technicolor awesomeness.

_suz4nne_: Heather Lovely of you to say! Thank you, thank you.. @poppybay

Used magic shutter to leave exposure open. Captured a lot of moving lights. Then added #3d to it.

alteregoz: @drzuum 3d glasses this one tell me what u think

drzuum: Will check when I'm at home again. Have u tried Slow Shutter? Its the best app EVER. I imagine this is quite the same.

drzuum: So I just saw this one in 3d now only. Freak out? If you used an open shutter how did the depth of field work so well. The sharpness in the background and the cloud of lighting is quite exxtreme. Truly have to see this with the stereocopic glasses to enjoy fully. Seriously peoples get with the glasses. I hope this 2point5d doesnt die out before it begins... Awesome. 

alteregoz: I'm just using perspective tricks to achieve depth. Started with a flat magic shutter image. Added blur to top and bottom. Added 3d filter from photo studio fx o ly in the middle. Ran it thru squareready to add the black bars right and left.

alteregoz: @drzuum ^^^

drzuum: Hmm interesting that the blur seems to create an extra level of depth. To my prescription pad, this I will add. May the force be with you.

Tonight's submission is from Tiffany, aka @tiffany916, let's hear about her process.

I want to first start off by saying thank you to @computerjones and @momma2maxh for bringing together such a talented group of mobile artists. It means a lot to be featured amongst you all!

I recently had the pleasure to go on a photo shoot with my good friend @lisasaysitsalright I was extremely excited to use a couple of those shots for this feature.

I wanted something that portrayed life's everyday struggles. We all have them, we get through them, and it makes us who we are today. So here's my lengthy process.

1. Original shot was taken with #camera+ 2. Took it to #snapseed adjusted the details under structure to 100% twice. Played with the brightness, ambiance, and saturation under tune image. Saved. 3. #photowizard used texture 4 @65% under texturize. Adjusted the threshold and lighting under light bloom. Saved. 4. If you look closely on the right hand side, you can see me standing there. I used #juxtaposer then saved. 5. #blender to blend the edit prior to juxt and the one with. 6. Back to #camera+ and used the faded filter. Adjusted that to 55% saved. 7. I wanted to add a little blur to some areas. I used #blurfx median then did some cleaning. 8. #picfx used the scratches one filter. 9. Back to #blender blended the one with and without scratches. 10. Back to #juxtaposer to juxt in some texture of the grass and tree. 11. Last step I cropped using #squareready. Thanks again Lanie and Will! And to all you talented artists who continue to inspire me daily!
