I built these small displays for issue 16 of BLOCKS magazine as part of their Star Wars Battlefront feature. There is work from several other really talented builders in the feature, all to help readers make the most of their battle packs. Check out the issue for instructions on how to build these items, and even how to source some of the parts.

Week 13 Assignment
Who needs friend when you have your own squad? For this week's assignment I decided to use the layer mask technique to create my composite image. I found it much easier instead of selecting each individual body. This composite image consists of four individual photos. My niece and I went out to the park when we had that gorgeous sunset back in November. I chose one image as the base photo based on how intense the sky looked. While the layer mask technique was easier to use, the editing process was long and a bit difficult. At that time, the sun was setting so fast. If you look closely, some parts of the bodies and the trees at the right hand side are a bit blurry because the shutter speed was not fast enough even though I was using a tripod. Also, the images after the first shot were much darker, so, I had to go into Lightroom and lighten the exposure of each body using the adjustment brush. I also used the graduated filter to lighten the foreground more as well. Another difficulty I ran into was with blending. I wanted to make the image look as natural as possible so it took me a while to edit the photo because I kept tweaking various edits to blend the edges of the bodies. While not exactly my top favorite photo of this semester, I still love how the sky looks.

Special Forces Unit: Reaper Squad
“Their sacrifice lay the first stone in the foundation, worthy of his return. There is still work to be done.”
— Agent Amus
Reaper Squad, was an Imperial special forces commando unit. Commando units such as Reaper Squad (and the treacherous Inferno Squad), was commissioned during the Galactic Civil War. These commando units usually consisted of four commando troopers with various specialties, such as demolitions and weaponry, slicing, infiltration, sabotage etc. Reaper Squad was created by the former Imperial Triumvirate leader, Grand Prince Serion, who named the squad as a tribute to the downfall of his homeworld. Reaper Squad was one of many Imperial Triumvirate forces that joined the Stygian Remnant, and continued to report to Lord Amus.

Mystery Squad Kenzie is one of my favourite dolls I feel super nostalgic about even if I never actually saw her released in Australia cuz she combines two of my favourite things: the Lea Sculpt and red hair. Add the fact she has that early 2000s screening and a now a Made to Move body she’s definitely one of my favourites right now.
I also ripped out her blonde streaks and I think she’s perfect now lol.
