Back to Bangkok, the view from our hotel terrace (with pool) of our hotel, not too bad, right ? As far as technique is concerned: this is an assembly of several vertical shots, with for each of them various exposures merged, and a final tilt shif effect... In short, some work to get this result ;o)

It is the beginning of February but already the furrows are sporting green fringes.

The best part of this was that the chickens had no idea what to do with this sprout stalk. Then the bunny hops up like all hey guys let me show you how it's done. A lot of entertainment out of a stalk of brussel sprouts.

Macro Mondays-Seeds

I buy only the sprouted seeds, they're cleaned and ready to cook.

Again so sorry for not commenting on your photos...it's 2 weeks to go and we head to our new home in Upstate, NY. I'm exhausted but happy and excited. Thanks for beIng so supportive with your amazing comments.

This "mother of thousands" kalanchoe plant was left in the garage for a few weeks during the coldest part of the winter. Now we see that the little plantlets along the edge of the leaf, which normallly fall off and sprout, have sprouted without falling off the "mother" leaf. Interesting...

I was given a homemade sprout kit to grow my own sprouts... this is my first born.

A quick shot of this onion that is sprouting new shoots, before I use it in my cooking.

This garlic was lurking in the back of the fridge, I thought it was worth a photo before it went in the bin.

Fresh leaves bursting out of a bramble stem on Walthamstow Marshes.

Small leaves plucked from a tall hedge in the front yard. These leaves were about 3" (76.2mm) from tip to tip when freshly plucked, but shriveled closer to 2" (50.8mm) span when I took this shot.

As I am not a botanist, I cannot identify the plant species (and link to a Wikipedia page, as is my custom).

The Harry Potter CMF Series 2 has some great minifigs, with some even better accessories. Professor Pomona Sprout is not one of those.

The figure itself is a nice update on the 2011 minifig, but the Screaming Mandrake she's holding, is not the one she is packaged with. (It's the one from the last series that came with Neville; Who's getting a catch-up lesson today, because Pomona is an awesome teacher like that)

Instead, the Pomona minifig includes a printed 1x1 round brick, two of the green plant stems, and whilst she has a wand, she doesn't have a handle for her cauldron.

As AFOLs, we've come to expect a lot from the CMF minifigures, so those little omissions count for a lot. It means this is one for completionists only.

Because for the Hogwarts fans,

with the ever expanding range of Hogwarts classrooms, it's only a matter of time till we get a Herbology Classroom, and an updated Professor Pomona, which means it might be worth holding on.

Even though its getting slightly colder, the spring is on its way. Migratory birds have started to arrive in south of Sweden, water is floowing and the reproductive parts of plants (which for most plants constitute of flowers) is regrowing. Here a flower bud @ The Botanical Garden, Gothenburg

Handle With Care for Macro Mondays

I don't have a green thumb. Every time I plant flower seeds, they don't come out.

Last week, I planted new seeds in my flowerpot. Now there are some small sprouts! I wonder if they will grow well....

Paramount Ranch

Approximately 4 months after containment of the Woolsey fire.

Within a week of containment of the fire, many of the chaparral yucca were already sprouting new stalks. Most of those are looking very robust now. This one, however just has come to life. Though completely charred, our recent rains and cool temperatures have allowed it time to regenerate.

They don't just get to your market in clam shell containers. A lot of labor is involved. The colors of yellow, green and red were just too much to pass up, especially in the rain. San Luis Obispo, California.

New growth from a cactus leaf, sitting on our window sill.

I am entering my PTS10 pillow into the Modern Mini Quilt Challenge hosted by Ellison Lane. The design was inspired by Tracey Jay's scrappy sprouts and my partner's (Mel, Crandons) mosaic and her colour requests. I thought it would be fun to make the sprouts with curves but keep them scrappy.
