I was out with a friend from Flickr, Shawn Wainwright, at a local place in Tom's River. What started out as a slow day ended up being a darn good one for birds, butterflies AND odes. This was the first time I'd seen any sprite, making this a lifer after a series of false starts.

There was some debate if this was a female Sphagnum or a female Sedge sprite. Based on the size and shape of the dark color on segment 8 and the larger amount of blue on the back of the head, I'm fairly comfortable with my ID (although I'm submitting to Bugguide.net for verification).
