So....we go out shopping for motorbike trousers and stop by in Mote Park for a picnic......I THINK this is a female Southern Hawker but find dragonflies so hard
When I first met Suze, she told me that she loved Robins and that there would always be one nearby when her Dad was working in the garden. Everytime she sees one she thinks of her Dad and says hi to the robin and tells it to say hi to her Dad for her.
Anyway as a present soon after I made her a bird box which we put up in our garden in Surrey. A robin never moved in and it sat empty for nearly 7 years.
After we moved to Cumbria I put it up in a tree at the corner of the garden and about a month ago we spotted a shy bird making a nest, then sitting on eggs and now it has chicks. What was the bird we kept asking each other?
Tonight we lay in the back of the truck with the camera on a tripod and remote lead and I took three photos when this flighty bird landed.
The photos revealed a spotted flycatcher! Maybe we will have a robin nesting next year.....
My bunny loves to watch Springwatch and Sutumnwatch on the BBC. Every day it's on he'll sit down quietly in front of it untilit's finished.
Tawny owl mum keeping watch from a tree near to her nest in an owl box, we knew there was a chick as the shell of a very round white egg appeared under the tree in week of 19th March and the female owl was on guard from mid May, seeing off any threats and very vocal.
An empty freezer? yes.....An empty fridge? yes......work later? yes....so....a trip to Iceland and a trip to Tesco.....via the park and with my camera....result? I was serenaded
