Photo-a-day Lent Calendar for A Hobbling A Day. Still Winter, but Spring is definitely in the air.
Marai Daehne and I talked about doing a Lent Calendar after last December's Advent Calendar.
(whenever I see a willow I think of tom bombadil and the hobbits)
The real thing (ortonized in pic uploaded yesterday).
In large size you can see the magnolia that marks the end of my walk (I don't have time to go to the end of the road); some of the trees look autumnal, it's the colour of the new branches growing.
Regardless of the up and down weather that a lot of the U.S. is experiencing, Spring in Middle Tennessee is arriving anyway. As I was out and about yesterday, I noticed the buds and blooms on nearly all my trees and bushes starting to pop out. With today being a cold, rainy day, I decided that those blooms would make a nice 'Spring is coming!' photo even though it might not feel like it...

White car in the driveway, released from its snowdrift.
It is March 16, 2017, 4 days before the Vernal Equinox, the start of Spring. Winter storm Stella hit at 2:30 March 14, 2017. It is 5:00 AM, the day after the blizzard. The weather cleared off this afternoon and turned quite pretty, assuming you like deep, fluffy snow.
I want to thank all of you for being such wondeful flickr friends. Your positive support and encouraging comments really lift my spirits and sometimes help me through my days. I take your suggestions and constructive criticism with me on new adventures while taking photos, I've learned SO much from so many of you the last several months, not only by your suggestions but by looking through your photo streams. I've thoroughly enjoyed every moment and look forward to many more!
Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a FANTABULOUS weekend! :-)

Spring can't be far away. Each year the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri puts out their Easter bunnies on display. It is always a treat to see and a sure sign of warm weather to come.
I have a whole folder of Tulip photos, and on a day like today, I can't help but think of spring, and the warm sun on my back as I enjoy my 50mm 1.4 macro lens. Yum.
Spring is fully here and blooms are everywhere. These are on a Weeping Higan Cherry Tree. The soft, pink blossoms set against the deep, blue sky makes the nearly perfect photograph of Spring...

Long Tailed Tit.
Believe it or not great Tits have been collecting nesting material from our garden, it is very early and if we get a repeat of last year the first flush of chicks might not survive due to the lack of bugs.
Today was the first day of Spring here in Australia. It still had a Winter chill in the air, but the sun was shining brightly.
White car in the driveway, cleverly disguised as a snowdrift.
It is March 14, 2017, 6 days before the Vernal Equinox, the start of Spring. Winter storm Stella hit at 2:30 this morning. It is now 3:00 PM. The walk was shoveled at 9:30 AM, The snow plow came through again at 11:30; can you tell?
We have two of these bushes in our yard that were planted by the original builder/owner of the house. She spent a small fortune in landscaping!! I believe it to be Lilac but since gardening is not my specialty, I'm not 100% sure. What I do know is that these flowers smell heavenly and make the entire back and side yards smell amazing for about 3-4 weeks every Spring!
