Spring Fever! Falling in love with YOU … again! <3
“...stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles. Instead, climb more mountains, eat more ice cream, go barefoot oftener, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more and cry less. Life must be lived as we go along. ”
― Robert J. Hastings, Tinyburg Tales

SPRING FEVER - ELVIS PRESLEY
SWEET ANTICIPATION
Remembering that sweet anticipation
of childhood desires for sun and ice-cream
I never really understood until now
how far away it seems to be
Sitting in a small café I can feel the expectations
of every child who wants an ice-cream
on this sunny, happy day
warm; replete surrounded by such pleasant company
I beckon to the waitress
who clears our plates away
and even though I'm already full
from paté on toast; chutney and salad; serendipity
provides a glimpse of heaven on the menu
I order up lemon meringue ice-cream with two spoons
new on the menu it deserves a ballad of it's own
little pieces of pie that melt in my mouth so delightfully
lemony; creamy in a crystal dish
fluted for ease of spoonful movements
scoops of delightful deliciousness
washed down with ice-cold cafe latte
that is nowhere near as sweet
after my taste buds have been led astray
by that succulent dessert; oh, what a treat
I feed my face a few more morsels greedily
I stop before I eat too much
it's better to savour culinary delights in small doses
less is more, especially when it comes to food
too much would spoil and lessen it's exquisite rarity
The small boy stands still awaiting his turn
his eyes fixed on the strange blue ice-cream treat
later I asked and discovered it was called Bubblegum
if we could taste the sky would that it would taste so dreamy.

Marley among the wildflowers, a purrfect pairing...these are a few of my favourite things as well as Tom Petty’s song.
Marley usually stays within the confines of the backyard cat enclosure. However, lately with the beautiful Spring weather, he escapes constantly...playing hide-and-seek into the backyard amidst the wildflowers and tall grass. He is in his element and definitely belongs among the wildflowers.
A phrase from Tom Petty’s Wildflowers song:
🎶You belong among the wildflowers
You belong somewhere close to me
Far away from your trouble and worry
You belong somewhere you feel free
You belong somewhere you feel free🎶

Bloom - is Result - to meet a Flower
And casually glance
Would cause one scarcely to suspect
The minor Circumstance
Assisting in the Bright Affair
So intricately done
Then offered as a Butterfly
To the Meridian -
To pack the Bud - oppose the Worm -
Obtain it's right of Dew -
Adjust the Heat - elude the Wind -
Escape the prowling Bee -
Great Nature not to disappoint
Awaiting Her that Day -
To be a Flower, is profound
Responsibility
Fiorire - è il fine
chi passa un fiore con uno sguardo distratto
stenterà a sospettare le minime circostanze
coinvolte in quel luminoso fenomeno
costruito in modo così intricato
poi offerto come una farfalla al mezzogiorno
Colmare il bocciolo — combattere il verme
ottenere quanta rugiada gli spetta
regolare il calore — eludere il vento
sfuggire all'ape ladruncola
non deludere la natura grande
che l'attende proprio quel giorno —
essere un fiore, è profonda responsabilità

Week 12 - Springtime
It's spring fever. That is what the name is.
And when you've got it, you want -
oh, you don't quite know what it is you want,
but it just fairly makes your heart ache,
you want it so !

"About this time of the year spring fever attacks the offending citizen and reduces him to temporary junk. Spring fever is more terrible than other fevers because it cannot be cured by swallowing a clinical thermometer and running out a few yards of tongue in the presence of a doctor. When a man has spring fever he has to suffer along with the knowledge that nothing is the matter with him and there isn't enough sympathy in the wide world to spare him one little tear. Spring fever is so called because it removes the spring from man and leaves him a mass of helpless woe." - George Fitch, "Spring Fever" (Thoughts That Throb), Collier's Weekly, 1914 April 11th

Yesterday there were six monarchs in the yard, four of them were laying eggs. I checked the milkweed to find thousands of eggs and a whole lotta various sized caterpillars.
In protective custody I have thirty monarch caterpillars munching away on milkweed. Fourteen are in chrysalis stage and one has eclosed (hatched) this morning and awaits release once his wings dry.
The monarch in this image was hanging out on the pink Vinca flower then he went to the justice, salvia and finally the milkweed before I moved along. I saw my first Palamedes yesterday while I was out. I was unable to get a shot because when you chase butterflies, they fly away. Naturally, the Palamedes flew over my neighbors rooftop and did not return during my outdoor time. Perhaps it will return today.
Our winter has been very mild this year. I am thankful for that and for what seems to be an early spring. The plants are growing, birds are singing and butterflies are flitting. Of course all of that causes me to have a bit of spring fever and I desire to spend every waking moment outside.
I hope you have a sensational Sunday, happy snapping.

It's spring, the time when my world seems delirious with the blooms of beautiful blossoms - yes, I have spring fever! 😊🌷

This is a photo of the Manitowish River in the Northern Highlands state forest north of Boulder Junction Wisconsin. This is my destination on a beautiful sunny spring day to hear the water cascading over the rocks and to see the beautiful clouds pass overhead. It is a serious case of Spring Fever to say the least.
