Looking for places we can walk with minimal people contact, an old rail trail seemed like a good idea. There was not much to see on an overcast day other than big open spaces and one other couple far up ahead. However, to the left beyond the fence is a wetland, where peepers were calling out loudly in a chorus of spring fever. It's amazing how much sound these tiny frogs can produce - drowning out even the road noise behind us: youtu.be/lXfmubmx-qw

Marley’s first encounter with blooming daffodils that are popping up everywhere around the farm.
Lately, he’s been jumping the fenced cat enclosure constantly...this time I decided to give him some free roam in the greater outdoors... he immediately went to the daffodils, sniffing them With curiosity but not biting them thankfully. I had to run quickly to grab my camera which was nearby. This photo isn’t as sharp as I would like but I just love the moment.
It was one of the few quiet, still days we get in St.John's. Set off longings for spring or some such. Deadman's Pond, St.John's, NL.
We're in the between seasons stage where it can snow one day, as it will in the next couple of days when my snow tires are due to come off, rain the next, and everything in the landscape is still brown. Not very inspiring for photography. The birds have it together, though, and have begun pairing up and building nests. These lovebirds are pretty crafty as they keep warm balanced on one leg and appear to be sleeping. However, a closer look indicates at least one eye open watching me closely!
Just call it Wishful Thinking ........

The 9th green looking back down the fairway towards Clark's Woods. It was a foggy morning after another 3 to 4 inch snowfall.
It's a roller coaster ride lately on minus zero temperatures, to 32 plus degrees F. and foggy. I think it's better to "lock" into a winter weather pattern, than this wild ride of January extremes!

tears of springtime joy....
Marley all sprawled out on the deck, turned upside down enjoying the wonderful warmth of the recent sunny Spring weather. He looks so cute all decked out in his red “made in Canada” pirate cat collar.
The black tile attached to his collar is a Bluetooth tracking device with a 300ft range...he truly has Spring fever as lately he is constantly jumping the backyard fencing. He doesn’t seem to mind it and gives me peace of mind when he does stray.
