Too much lens flare- PS helps.

In one of the gardens at Longwood. I love these and have tried them several times but they don't seem to like my garden. I love the texture of the petals.

There was an entire border of Columbine in the most delicious colors ever! There will be more shots!!!

1) Hepatica transilvanica. 2) Adonis vernalis L. 3) Leucojum vernum. 4) Crocus tommasinianus.

Home was built by Wm Carson who made his fortune in logging - mostly redwood trees. This is considered the finest example of Victorian/Queen Anne architecture in US. Now owned by private club and not available for public tours.

There was a long border with Columbine and some Phlox but I was totally fixated on the Columbine!

Okay, this needs an explanation for those who do not live on the East coast of the US! Since I was a kid, whenever you went to the beaches on the coast, the gift to bring home was a box of salt water taffy. It came in all colors...but they all tasted the same!

Anyway, these Tulips at Longwood reminded both my husband and me of the taffy!

The deer eat all the leaves off these every winter and yet they bloom beautifully! Last December 10 Azaleas (white, red , pink, purple) were moved from the bed by our garage down into my woodland garden with the Rhododendrons and they are all flourishing! Hooray!
