Mitten im historischen Zentrum Berlins ist mit dem am 20. Juli 2021 eröffneten Humboldt Forum ein einzigartiger Ort des Erlebens und der Begegnung entstanden. Ein Ort mit besonderer Geschichte. Das Gebäude wurde von 2012 bis 2020 an der Stelle des historischen Berliner Schlosses, das im 2. Weltkrieg durch Bomben schwer beschädigt und schließlich 1950 gesprengt wurden war, errichtet und weist an drei Außenseiten sowie in seinen Innenhöfen dessen rekonstruierte Fassaden auf. Der Ostflügel am Spreeufer und Gebäudeteile an den Innenhöfen, die beim originalen Schloss nicht barock ausgeführt waren, sondern aus früheren Epochen stammten, wurden modern ausgeführt. Das Gebäude ist bis auf die Spree-Seite von außen ein Nachbau des als „Hauptwerk des norddeutschen Barocks“ geltenden Berliner Schlosses, innen ein vollständig moderner Bau des italienischen Architekten Franco Stella. Die modernen Gebäudeteile wurden durch 572 Millionen Euro öffentliche Gelder finanziert, die historischen Fassaden durch 105 Millionen Euro private Spenden.
Neben dem Ethnologischen Museum Berlin und dem Museum für Asiatische Kunst der Staatlichen Museen wird das Humboldt-Forum auch die Berlin-Ausstellung des Stadtmuseums und das Humboldt-Labor der Universität beheimaten. Außerdem sollen in der Institution verschiedene Veranstaltungen sowie Sonder- und Wechselausstellungen abgehalten werden.

Die HTW ist mit 14.000 Studierenden und 500 die größte staatliche Fachhochschule Berlins und Ostdeutschlands. Ihr Campus Wilhelminenhof, einer von zweien, befindet sich seit 2009 auf Teilen des Geländes des 1897 von der AEG gegründeten und 1999 geschlossenen ehemaligen Kabelwerks Oberspree (KWO), das1989 mit ca. 6.000 Beschäftigten einer der größten Industriebetriebe Ostberlins war.
In Oberschöneweide befand sich eins der größten Industriegebiete Europas, entwickelt ab 1889 vor allem von Emil Rathenau und der von ihm gegründeten AEG. Zu DDR-Zeiten war Oberschöneweide mit 36.000 Arbeitsplätzen in 14 Großbetrieben der wichtigste innerstädtische Industriestandort. Allein in den Betrieben am Spreeufer gab es 25.000 Beschäftigte, heute nur noch rund ein Zehntel. Einer der größten Betriebe war das Kabelwerk Oberspree (KWO´), gegründet von der AEG 1897 und nach dem 2. Weltkrieg verstaatlicht, mit 6000 Beschäftigten im Jahr 1990. 1993 wurde es von einem britischen Investor erworben und in den späten 1990-er Jahren geschlossen. Inzwischen belebt sich das Viertel wieder dank des Umzugs der Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft, für die auf einem Teil des Geländes Gebäude saniert und auch neu gebaut wurden

I think I found a new favourite film / developer combination. Rollei RPX 400 is said to be identical to Kentmere 400 as well as New Agfa(Photo) APX400. I found a developeing time of 13 mins.@20°C for APX400 in Fomadon P and it seems to confirm the above.
I find the tonal range excellent and it came out virtually grain-free. Looks like I even don't require any filters...
Sollte sich jemand über die absurd hohe ISO-Zahl bei diesen Bildern und allen weiteren aus Berlin-Friedrichshain und -Mitte wunderen, so ist das Schuld meiner Nachlässigkeit. Ich hatte am Vortag bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen Fotos mit diesem Wert gemacht und vergessen, den Wert zurückzusetzen, war aber der festen Überzeugung, das getan zu haben, und habe es nicht mehr kontrolliert.
If anyone is wondering about the absurdly high ISO settings in these pictures and all the others from Berlin-Friedrichshain and -Centre, it's my fault. I had taken photos with this value the day before in poor lighting conditions and forgot to reset it, but I was firmly convinced that I had done so and didn't check it again.
Seit 2012 gibt es direkt am Ufer der Spree in Berlin das genossenschaftliche Stadtquartier "Holzmarkt 25". Ganz gleich, ob Sie einen schönen Biergarten oder einen szenige Konzert-Location suchen, der Holzmarkt vereint die verschiedenen Angebote. Street-Art gibt den Gebäuden des Areals ein buntes und quirliges Erscheinungsbild. Neben Clubs und Gastronomie befinden sich auf dem Gelände des Holzmarktes auch eine Kita, eine Eventagentur, ein Tonstudio, eine Musikschule, ein Coworking-Space und ein Fotostudio. Der Name stammt von der Straße im Bezirk Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, an der er liegt, die Holzmarktstraße. Er ist eine Erinnerung an den Holzmarkt, der früher einmal hier zu finden war.

Street art gives the buildings in the area a colourful and lively appearance. In addition to clubs and restaurants, the Holzmarkt site is also home to a daycare centre, an event agency, a recording studio, a music school, a co-working space and a photo studio. The name derives from the street in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg borough on which it is located, Holzmarktstraße. It is a reminder of the timber market that used to be located here.

Friedrichshain ist ein Berliner Ortsteil im Bezirk Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. Bis zur Fusion mit dem benachbarten Bezirk Kreuzberg bei der Verwaltungsreform 2001 war der heutige Ortsteil ein eigenständiger Bezirk Friedrichshain. Der Ortsteil hat seinen Namen vom Volkspark Friedrichshain im Norden und erstreckt sich nach Süden bis zum Spreeufer.
