As far as we know, the original settlers here were Dalmatians tribes, later joined by Greek merchants, who saw the value of the harbor and its proximity to the rich interior. The first Romans stablished a colony nearby at Selona in 78 B.C, taking full advantage of the same features. Selona eventually became the Roman administrative center for Dalmatia, especially after Caesar settled other Italian colonist there. Roman roads and aqueducts were added to exploit the rich mines and farms along the sunny coast.

Split Tongue Crow played a tripple-billed show @ the Sumner Night Chapel as part of the Keene Music Festival series to benefit the restoration of the Chapel. A band new to me, I was blown away! Also in the lineup were Big Paws and Blackjack Crossing. Check out pictures of their sets as well, and go buy everyone's music, or better yet, see them live!

I remember showing Split Banana to a number of my friends, and there was a split opinion on where the banana actually was within the painting. One of my closet friends was certain that there were two bananas, whereas other friends could visualise just the one open banana. I am not here to tell you how many bananas you should be seeing as I always like to hear how people perceive my paintings on a personal level. I feel the blended strong watercolours shown throughout this painting helps bring the fruit (or should I say seed, herb or even berry!) to life. After this painting was complete I remember looking back proudly, tucking into the very thing I had just painted.

This is my Split-Cam camera. It allows you to take two half photos on one frame.

I haven't actually used it yet. I got it for when i (eventually) do my Lomo plastic fantastic camera 365 week.
HŽ 2044018 stands at Split with B1841 to Vinkovci. The GM will work the train some 260 miles to Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor where an Electric will take over.
Huge thanks to the Dutch Photter who was also taking pictures of this train and offered me the use of his tripod, I couldn't have achieved the same result handheld!

This weekend I got to hear a presentation by Lee Radzak, the Historic Site Manager at Split Rock Lighthouse since 1982. He lives at Split Rock year round and had amazing stories, information and photos!
