The window on this little cabin on the floating dock had long since been broken. It still reflected the scene down the Fraser though.

Wearing the distrinctive splinter camoflage associated with the Viggen, the second Viggen operated by the Historical Flight is this SK37E, SE-DXO. Out of 17 SK-37s produced, between 1998-2000 ten were converted to the ECM role to replace the J32Es. They were the last Viggens to serve, when they retired in 2007. During their short careers the SK37Es, with their U95 active jamming pod, were a highly regarded ECM platform participating in a number of NATO exercises. The thin line around the radome indentified the SK37Es.

The Boys Village opened in 1930 as a summer camp for the sons from families in the mining communities from South Wales Valleys. As a result of the decline in mining the site gradually had less and less funds with which to operate and eventually closed down.

As can be seen in the full size version, the building had been booby trapped prior to my arrival with some kind of pressure pad that utilized a bait of digestive biscuits and sausage rolls, someone had obviously done their homework on me. I would have fallen for it had it not been for my wife's superior judgement.

The lovely church is now missing half of it's floor, the organ has been reduced to mere splinters, the lanterns that were hanging from the beams have been smashed and the stained glass windows are long gone!
