30925 steams round Wanders curve on its way to Medstead.
A tight angle due to some of the PWay walking past & then standing in the shot as 30925 hove into view!!!!
Carrying the 'SPL 101' disc, the crew of 47 579 pay respects to James Nightall on what would've been his 101st birthday!
Had to clamber down and get salty to get this shot.
Slipper as a wet cod underfoot trying to get a good perspective.
Eventually managed to get 3 solid frames off before sinking into the proceeding tide.
You've guessed it, Photomatix Pro and some Aperture goodies to finish off the pic.
This really shows how sketchy a wipeout at "pipe" is. The sure thing is, you know you gonna hit the reef. The question is: How hard you gonna hit it:)
Don't have many water shots due to lack of swell. When the contest was running it was pumping I mean pumping.
This was an ok day at offthewall but then again an ok day in Hawaii is an excellent day elsewhere :0)
Shooting in the water at offthewalll is a bit sketchy cause if the wave catches you, you know you gonna eat the reef and your ass will pinball all over the place. ISN'T THAT FUN!!!

I'm not usually into coffee but after a recent trip to USA it seems pumpkin is the thing to add to your latte!!
Went out for a drive Friday evening as it looked like it was going to be a wonderful sunset, sone light clouds in the sky 30 mins before sundown. So off I went to the location about a mile away, set up the lights and turn back to face the shot and WTF? All the clouds had gone.
Anyway, the purpose of the shoot was to get more understanding of balancing ambient light (the sunset) with strobes (elinchrom quadra x2).
But the sunset turned out ok, I learnt what NOT to do and have another process to follow next time I get out. But fun all the same, any excuse to get out :)
