I must confess that as soon as I finished this image I burst into tears...
Though it was a very intricate idea and difficult to achieve I made it with no effort. It was like the image was creating itself and I was just the tool, the medium between the idea and the result.
Very weird....
I will probably be too busy until around November 25. to allow myself the pleasure of spending much time on Flickr :( Still I will be taking pics (a need I have) and might even upload some now and then. So if I don't visit your works for a while ... you now know the reason why ;)

Something that has lifted my spirits this past three days is being witness to hundreds of these pretty little caper white butterflies travelling through my garden, north to south. So very many, it was like confetti in the breeze.
I didn't think I'd get a decent shot as none were stopping and they were flying at a height, but my luck changed and one did finally come to rest, just for a few seconds.
This migration doesn't happen every year, conditions have to be right and I am so grateful their chosen path brought them close to mine this time.

Autumn color offers a perfect compliment to this beautiful waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge.
Even though there were less waterflow and fall colors than my last visit (flic.kr/p/MAd2EE), I still feel so excited to see this wonderful waters again.
I'm reading Farly Mowat's book Bay of Spirits, which chronicles his adventures in Newfoundland around the time the great cod fishery was collapsing, remote outpost villages were being moved to larger urban centers, and an entire way of life was disappearing. The book brought me back to our own adventures on the island a few years ago, where we saw remnants of those days and a handful of people who still went to sea. It remains an unforgiving life and there are reminders that not everyone makes it home.
The original version of this image was taken on a sunny day but since it's "slider Sunday," I took some liberties in the edit.
I was quite disturbed by the implied message of this painting at a liquor store we discovered in Aberdeen Washington. If I was of native American origin I would be insulted by this.
