Crab spiders are renown for their camoflage... Misumena is usually found on flowers. This one was probably hunting in the flowerheads of the yellow Compositae [Dandelion family] ... mainly Hawkbits/weeds... that are below this Spindle.
But... this is her eggs sac... hidden inside the folded leaves,
She is meant to stay guarding her valuable deposit until her death... which given this colour combination will probably be sooner rather than later. And the seed head of the Spindle is well on its way to becoming bright pink...

Wood artist, Tom Homa, opened his studio for the 2019 Broome Art Trail. They had an outside demonstration, showing how to how to use their home-built Spindle Horse, designed to form the spindles that form the back of a chair. It is currently being used to carve the seat of the chair.
This spindle is used in fisheries management to examine Coded-Wire Tags (CWTs) which have been extracted from fish. The tag is the thin piece of metal protruding from the tip, it is held on magnetically.
This is my second drop spindle design! The 1.3 ounce spindle is great for spinning fingering weight yarns. Made of cut acrylic and oak, it's as much fun to watch the spindle as it is to create yarn.
One of my other loves is stained glass and particularly Tiffany Lamps. Armed with an Ashford Classic spindle, my copy of 'The Lamps of Tiffany' and some patience, and this is the result! (The flowers are from Tiffany's 'Clematis' design.)

Spindle tree! I found a small tree at the edge of my woods. They have bright pink pods which have opened to reveal orange-coated seeds. I suspect that this was planted by birds, since it is only found here as an ornamental shrub.

§P¡NdLe is a [project|object] that [combines|confuses] skateboarding with music. The [movement/acceleration] of the skateboard is being transformed into sound synthesis. The sound engine is designed to be both, trivial and non-trivial. The [trivial|direct] translation acts as an additional channel to your mind-body coordination while the non-trivial aspect is there to provide the skateboard with a [memory|internal states] of your ride. It will add up to a climax as long as the movement of the skateboard does not contain too much noise.

Abigail is new to the addiction of spinning. She's using a drop spindle meant for very very thin yarn; and she's making beautiful stuff with it!
This is first of two gorgeous, perfectly balanced spindles that was gifted to me. The whorl is Jatoba and the shaft, Cherry. The total length of the spindle from tip to tip is 12" with a stainless steel, hand bent hook (swan neck style).
The diameter of the whorl is 2 5/8 " and total weight of the spindle is 1.6 oz. Perfect for lace!
I've got some total spindle LOVE going on here!!
