Frost forms on objects that lose heat quickly, such as plants. If the temperature of the plant drops below zero, the water vapor that falls on those plants will transform into frost.

Spindle tree, garden, Hengelo, The Netherlands
Spindle (Euonymus europaeus) is a deciduous native tree. Mature trees grow to 9m and can live for more than 100 years. The bark and twigs are deep green, becoming darker with age, and have light brown, corky markings. The spindle is at its loveliest in autumn when its leaves turn russet and its pink and orange fruits ripen.
I took the previous photo into the iColorama app and this is what happened. Don’t ask me how!

For scale, these berries are small than a 5p or 5c coin.

A Spindle Tree along the road, just after we had started the first walk from our holiday home in Meisburg.
There are quite a few of these in the hedges close to my house. It is this time of year that you really notice them with their amazing coloured fruit.
Euonymus europaeus.
..very poison. Lovely in oktober with gorgeous fall foliage. When the fruits are ripe the orange colores fruits fall to the ground which are then eaten by birds.
Shooting in the badlands of Utah with my good friend Royce Bair. Royce and I discussed a name for this image while shooting. Royce had the idea of Sleeping Beauty Spindle. I took it from there and decided I liked Spindle of Destiny.

From nasa.gov "M102’s dust lane is slightly warped compared to the disk of starlight. This warp indicates that the galaxy might have experienced gravitational tidal disturbances in the distant past. These disturbances were likely caused by an interaction with a nearby galaxy, as M102 is the largest member of a small cluster of galaxies.
Pierre Méchain, a French astronomer and colleague of Charles Messier, discovered the Spindle galaxy in 1781 — the same year that he discovered the first two of his eight comets. M102 is located 44 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Draco and has an apparent magnitude of 10.7. It can be observed using a small telescope and is most easily spotted during July."

The mystic Spindle tree to me is another of Autumns gems. The leaves alone turn a fabulous deep red and dark purple but ontop of this the fabous seed pods, bright pink with flourescent orange berries are just sublime. Euonymus Europeans or the wild Spindle Tree
