I went over a year without purchasing any spindles, and so the last few months I bought a few.
The one on the left and the one on the right are from my LYS, made by a fellow Iowan. The one on the right is 1.2 ounces. The one of the left is a similar weight, but I can't remember exactly. It is on the shaft, which is covered with yarn.
The center one is my very first Golding. It is a .85 ounce Solid Purpleheart.
I love them all!

I changed the whorl of my spindle to a larger wooden wheel and lowered it on the spindle... what a difference that little bit makes. The blue/cream and pink balls are 2 ply while the blue and yellow on the holders are single ply. Could it be more obvious that these are beginners yarns?...lol

Ah, the Spindle. I can't believe I had never experienced it in person, having lived in or around Chicago for pretty much my entire life. It's pretty sweet - standing triumphantly in the parking lot of Cermak Plaza (SE corner of 22nd and Harlem in Berwyn, IL - just a short drive from Chicago proper.) They've tried to tear it down and move it around in the past, but here it remains.
