"I worked all my life. I reached halfway of it and the "books" dictated I should pass into a status somebody one day had the idea of naming “retiring”. I had no time. Today I have the whole time of the world. But formerly I was healthy and now I live in a constant complain. Yesterday I sweat buckets for some miserable pennies, today not a penny I have to sweat; they took them all away in the name of the “crisis”, that invented crisis which was only good to give me the time one day I wished and to take my life and my profit away from me. Wandering along the narrow causeway where a long time ago I played, I came across somebody who still lives in the dream of having time to have time, as if the life was a checkers game that despite of winning or loosing can always be restarted. As life can. Life restarts in any instant. But it would not be me anymore. I look to my ocasional friends' checkers game and I twitch my lips as if the life was that for a brief moment: a checkers game in a street lost in the World labyrinth that I can restart anytime despite of loosing or winning.

Spend a few hours at the senior center, lots of joy and nice people.
This was a work assignment, and of course the municipality received the photos in color, but I still thought a few of them looked good in black and white.

Old Neptune here is a new addition to the group. He was quite pleased to find out I have a pond. I did not have the heart to tell him that there is no fish in it. But he seemed happy anyway.

Centennial Parklands is not only one of Australia's best known and loved Parklands, but most historic. Centennial Park is the largest of the three parks that make up Centennial Parklands.
Originally a swamp, Centennial Park was reconstructed as a public park and opened in 1888.
Sir Henry Parkes vision was to create a "People's Park" in which the citizens of Sydney could "take in the air" away from the Sydney town centre.
It was really beautiful to walk in the park and so lovely to see this loving couple spending time together.

The clock tower was designed by the Levantine French architect Raymond Charles Père and built in 1901 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Abdülhamid II's accession to the throne (reigned 1876–1909). The clock itself was a gift from German Emperor Wilhelm II (reigned 1888–1918). It is decorated in an elaborate Ottoman architecture style. The tower, which has an iron and lead skeleton, is 25 m (82 ft) high and features four fountains (şadırvan), which are placed around the base in a circular pattern. The columns are inspired by Moorish themes. (from Wikipedia)
Who wants to battle crowds shopping at Walmart when you can spend an afternoon on the beach with the friendly, fabulous and funny frptlady?
After being flickr-friends for a year or so, the Llama and I finally had a chance to meet Kath. We spent a couple hours talking and walking on the beach while we snapped some shots and collected beach glass. It was an unseasonably warm day made that much better by Kathy's warm and sweet personality.
Thank you, Kath; this was a perfect way to enjoy the day after Thanksgiving!
that's how we felt after spending some time with Kathy (aka frptlady) yesterday. We walked, we talked, collected beach glass, laughed, smiled (a lot) and took a few photos too.
Thank you for a really great time, Kathy!

8/30 Today I am grateful for time.
Time to just sit. Time to do nothing. Time to think. Time to cherish. Time to rock and roll. Time to dance, jump, and shout. Time to make it count. Time to eat junk. Time to work and time to play. Time to pray. Time to celebrate. Time to mourn. Time to laugh. Time to help. Time to gain and time to lose. Time to spend. Time to create. Time to make. Time to remember. Time to forget and forgive. Time to let go and time to hold on tight. Time to sail, to fly, to float. Time to stay and time to go.
So let’s go! Take the time, make the time…set it aside. Once gone, it is gone. Whether I cram everything I can into a single moment or waste it on nothing, it will be a moment spent by me…another flicker in my life.

Janea and Mia found a little spot on the top of a rock. We were enjoying a sun drenched Sunday. What a beauty of a day it was! :D
School has kept me inside of the house for a while, so in an attempt to enjoy the last few days of our summer vacation, my sister and I got out a dusty old soccer ball from our garage and spent some time outside. It was nice to be in the fresh air and get a little break from technology. Plus, we got a pretty good workout from kicking the soccer ball around in direct sunlight haha :D

Sky gave me an idea yesterday for looking through my 'stream and reposting old shots. Well, this is one of them. I know the lighting's not great, but this is one of my favorites! An adoring Daddy spending time with his little girl. (O, and teaching her about shopping for quality!)

our spirits by thine Advent here;

"O Antiphons, (is) an Advent practice that goes back at least to the eighth century and possibly to the beginning of the sixth century or even earlier. Spending time with these scriptural texts is a powerful way to prepare you for Christmas and will give you a greater appreciation of just who it is that was born on that night in Bethlehem. And praying the antiphons and singing the hymn will help connect you with the people of God in all times and in all ages who have prayed and sung these very same words to the honor and glory of their Savior." www.colsoncenter.org/the-center/columns/indepth/23188-adv...
