Just back from a short trip :) Here's a shot of Milla running full speed towards me. Fortunately she knows when to stop ;)
Little one-man speeder based around the new-ish ‘Porsche Bows’ 77180 and 77182 built for a New Elementary article all about these curvy elements.
Arriving late in Kamloops, BC meant missing the sunset. However, the subtle pink hue in the sky contrasted well with the greens in the Thompson River.
On the morning of December 28, 2024, it was reported that Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr, with Phase IV Heritage Unit 164 on point, broke down somewhere way out west and Union Pacific stuck a freight unit on the train to drag it into Chicago. At that time, the train was running over 2 1/2 hours late, which would've put it into Chicago by mid-afternoon.
On this day, I had just started to recover from being sick from the previous two weeks, including Christmas Day, and I needed to get more medication. So I wanted to catch the train when I went to get more meds.
The train continued to lose time due to the reduced speeds of the freight unit. With long lines at the pharmacy, I went for the train first. But the Amtrak app was not updating, and I waited in the cold far longer than I thought. By the time the train passed me in Sandwich, IL, the sun had already set and was now well over 4 hours late into Chicago.
Not only would this be my last train I caught in 2024, these would actually be the last photos I took in 2024. Ironically, standing out in the cold for over an hour waiting for this was actually soothing to my sore throat, and the sickness finally broke the next night.

1999 marks the third time in my life when I picked up the photography bug. Armed with a new Canon FTb to replace one lost in a fire, I was out photographing again.
Check out an album containing more of my photos shot in 1999, or photos from The City of Guelph, which was my inspiration at this time.

TRRA's 201 job made quick work of departing Madison Yard and rolling through St. Louis on this late afternoon. With the early sunsets, it's a tough job to catch with any daylight. We found some rays of light at Compton Ave and luckily, nothing was parked on any of the "High Speed" tracks.

The Northern Pintail Duck migrates at night at speeds of around 48 miles per hour. The longest nonstop flight recorded was 1,800 miles!
Photographed in Bosque del Apaches NWR, New Mexico.
A fragment of a video of me doing the Speed Ball sent to me by the boys at the gym where I went to train for a few months. It would be nice if these new friends could now train with me in my gym where I've returned, but unfortunately this isn't possible....🇮🇹Un frammento di un video di me che faccio Speed Ball, inviatomi dai ragazzi della palestra dove mi sono allenato per qualche mese. Sarebbe bello se questi nuovi amici potessero ora allenarsi con me nella mia palestra, dove sono tornato, ma purtroppo questo non è possibile.
Visiting the Bluebell Railway for the Gala B12 8572. Trying to nail the pan technique, still a way to go and something to practise on, but getting there slowly

Following a 3 hour-long lull in traffic on the evening of Saturday, January 18, 2025, a northbound Union Pacific intermodal train blasts through the intermediate signals in Ward, AR beneath a clear sky.
This Lurcher unleashed its blistering pace and almost appeared to skim the surface of this tidal pool, i just love the determined look on his face!
In level flight Puffins are surprisingly quick - reaching speeds up to 55 MPH.
The reason for the tight crop here (other than to show the wonderful detail :-) is that I only just managed to fit him/her in the frame as he/she whizzed past.
Taken on the Isle of Lunga, Inner Herbrides. Home to 10,000 very confiding Puffins and lots of other amazing sea birds.
Cruising across the desert, she's a rusty old bike, but as long as the engine runs she'll get you there in one piece.
