One of the greatest joys of travelling along the Lofoten islands besides its absolutely breathtaking nature and topography must be the many many MANY tunnels that link some of them or which lead the E10 through insuperable mountains. It became one of my pleasures to be at the ready with my cameras and shoot while we were inside. Soo much fun, especially since most of the time you are all by yourself, not a single other car at sight and where else does one have that pleasure?! :)

It appears this speed boat was not as good as 007’s. It couldn’t escape all the bullets being shot at it.
It is not a cigarette boat ...more like a cigar boat, I think.
A Saker falcon - member of the falconry of the bird park Walsrode. These birds are amazing high speed flying artists. A joy to watch!

My project for the week was to try taking shots showing speed and focus....I was pleased with this one ... also the composition is pretty well balanced. I used ‘burst’ mode on my camera....
This little triangle has been helpful in getting curtains hung, 4 inch up, 3 inch over, just one of its many useful applications.
Crazy high ISO (20,000), high dynamic range night scene and 120 km's per hour through a car window presents its challenges (and, no, I wasn't driving). I remember when Tri-X at 400 ISO was high speed film. In the spirit of Vasco da Gama a bit of exploration of the capabilities of the new technology. I should have bumped up the shutter speed and raised the ISO even higher but ... "you can't go home again." :)
If you have come back to this image, however unlikely that might be, I have replaced the original post with another file that I think handles the noise much better. :)
