One of the most pleasurable aspects of being a full time professional landscape photographer who runs workshops in various parts of the world is that I am in the incredibly fortunate position to be in some of the world's most spectacular scenery at the best times of the year and every now and then you come across a view that stops you in your tracks and leaves you almost speechless (I say almost because it is me that I am talking about ;-) )
But what a morning this was back in October 2017 during one of the most beautiful subtle starts to a day I can ever remember. This unusual view of the mighty Vestrahorn was taken from the grounds of our hotel near Jökulsárlón.
I set up the camera along with my clients on either side of me and we all captured this stunning view. The sky initially had a gorgeous hints of pink in it whilst the ocean by contrast was a beautiful shade of blue but the colour suddenly grew and grew until it exploded in colour.
But when you have a view like this, you cannot complain at all when standing there all quiet and respectful and you breathe in the salty air and feel the breeze gently brushing past your face, it certainly has you feel alive and grateful to experience such moments. I hope you all like it.

This morning/days' fog was surreal, it came and went down here so fast. Two frames before this there was no Rainier and I didn't see the moon at all until I put the camera away to hump up to Summerland. Not only have I never seen these peaks, the freakin' moon just appeared from nowhere above the mountain. I can't say that I ran up the last leg, but I made my top speed and just prayed that the moon wouldn't beat me in the race to get above the treeline...
blow it up and soak it in, I'm speechless. :-)

It has been since March of 2015 since I have seen a BNSF SD40-2 leading a main line train (not a local). Well, BNSF delivered today with a freshly rebuilt and repainted 40 leading this Dilworth to Northtown train on a rare sunny, but -8 winter morning. The train is approaching the Armstrong Blvd. overpass in Ramsey, MN.
I can't think of a title that does this pelican justice. They way that they gracefully move across the water, sometimes so close the wing tips touch is simply amazing. They fly with no effort and are simply amazing.
What do you think, what would be a better title. I am open to suggestions.

I kind of hear that all of you ask me: “Engin, why did you take portrait in one of the best wide-angle places?” You are right guys…I was just trying to take vertical long exposure photos on the sunset to merge to make it panoramic…With 10 stop ND Filter…. However it didn’t work…Plus I also missed perfectly capture one the best sunset that I’ve ever seen… This is the only one left from that amazing experience…200 seconds posing…Lovely colors and fast move of the spectacular clouds because of the strong wind…. Although I couldn’t get the photo that I imagine, thanks New York to let me witness that speechless moment… Şu soruyu duyar gibiyim: “Engin, en güzel geniş açı çekilecek yerlerden birinde neden dikey kadraj çalıştın?” Haklısınız….Sadece bir denemek istedim…Günbatımında, 10 Stop ND ile uzun bozlama çekip sonra panaromic için birleştirmek…Ama olmadı…Elimde o mükemmel günbatımından sadece bu kare kaldı….200 sn. Uzun pozlama…günbatımının harika renkleri ve sert rüzgâr sayesinde hızlıca hareket eden bulutlar… Hayal ettiğim fotoğrafı çekemesem de, New York, çok teşekkür ederim bu eşsiz günbatımını armağan ettiğin için…. The title reflects how I feel every time I walk through the Valley of Dreams. The temps were topping low 100s on this trip in New Mexico, which made shooting at sunset rather pleasant. Every day at 7 pm, a mini-haboob would come that forced me to wear a respirator to prevent biting the dust.
