Clearance Divers conduct training for operational duties.
Navy Clearance Divers employed in the Maritime Tactical Operations (MTO) element are required to provide Shallow Water Mine Counter Measures (VSWMCM) detection and disposal. This involves reconnaissance of the seabed and areas to the back of the beach.
Clearance Divers in the MTO element are trained in subsurface insertion and extraction, with the ability to use small arms and tactics when required. They work in small teams and are versatile in how and where they can be employed at short notice. This includes counter Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) through to counter-piracy boarding operations.
High levels of mental and physical toughness are intrinsic qualities of a Clearance Diver, as is team work.

Mid Caption: Shah Wali Kot Offensive
Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) partnered with Australian Special Forces from the Special Operations Task Group conducted a deliberate operation to clear a Taliban insurgent stronghold in the Shah Wali Kot region of northern Kandahar province.
The Shah Wali Kot Offensive comprised synchronised and deliberate clearance operations involving Australian Commandos combined with a number of surgical helicopter-born assaults from Special Air Service (SAS) troops on key targets.
Removing Taliban insurgents from Afghan communities allows the Government of Afghanistan to establish a presence and gain the trust of the community to provide them with necessary infrastructure and security that was not provided by the insurgents.
He was with his about 15cm already almost too big for me :-)
In the backgrind is a woodpile.

Mid Caption: The Afghan National Security Force (ANSF) is taking an increasing lead in providing security in Uruzgan Province with the help of the Special Operations Task Group (SOTG) mentors.
ANSF and SOTG regularly patrol throughout Uruzgan Province, taking the fight to the insurgency.
This aggressive patrolling not only increases the confidence of the local population in the ANSF but also their capability and capacity.

I recently made a BrickLink order for a few third party minifig accessories and just had to take a photo of my latest custom minifig, the Spec Ops guy. I couldn't be happier he how turned out. I really don't have a story to go with this image, just imagine him on some mission doing special operational things ;-)
For the Monochrome Bokeh Thursday group
For the 52 in 2017 group - week 3 - Anything that you touch with your hands in the house
My neat, small pocket-friendly reading specs. Ultra thin, the case will slip easily into a pocket or purse. I was thinking mono - and playing around with my favourite macro lens, shooting at (for me) a high ISO setting to see what the effects would be with mono conversion. I liked the result, and then thought it would fit this week's "52 in 2017" group as well.

So today it was so extremely cold that when you threw boiling water in the air it *poof* evaporated.
It may be a young indian oyster. Pic from the week in the nature reserve Metzger, Spessart, Bayern, Germany.
An dem Stamm war nur so kleine weisse Seitlinge. Bin darum nicht sicher ob es der Lungenseitling ist oder nicht. Der hier ähnelt zwar mehr einem Ohr, könnte also auch der giftig ohrförmige Seitling sein.
