AAW October 5 - 12: Selective Focus

WIT: Held the glasses with one hand, took the picture with the other. Hard to get the focus right, especially with one hand, lol! In post, slightly desaturated the blurred background, and cropped.

The Sand Grasshoppers come along in many different patterns and shades of gray and brown, but they always seem to find a patch of ground where they are perfectly camouflaged when they sit still.

Around 750 worldwide species of ectomycorrhizal mushrooms compose the genus Russula. So it's no wonder that I can't determine this.

I was able to photograph all 3 eastern (USA) Mimids today; the Northern Mockingbird (NOMO), the Gray Catbird (GRCA) and the Brown Thrasher (BRTH). Sort of the Hat Trick of mimic birds.
