... all a blur this night... I don't remember how I got here or what this place was called... I think it was called Spaceship Front... but it was in Calista and I did recognize DJ Jara Corte's name before I TP'd over.
Color saturated designs with heavy glow in most areas created a blurry splash of color that just zoned me out completely along with DJ Jara's kewl tunes.
This place was inspiring and I went back to work trying to duplicate some of the textures there... very coooool.
As a celebration of the millennium the normal "Epcot" sign was replaced wih this understated reminder. Once again a tricky night shot which took several attempts to get right. geotagged

Jeff was lamenting that the Olympus C-5050 wasn't really able to get this shot properly. We both had the same camera at the time. Not sure what he was smoking because mine came out very well. I guess I just have steadier hands.
Anyone remember when Epcot had that extra thingamabob built on the side of Spaceship Earth?

While reading the background for this assignment, the first thing I thought of taking pictures of was what life was like on Earth and what it was made up of.
The first thing that came to mind was my family. My kids are my life and they are what bring me joy each morning so the first picture I thought of taking and putting on my wall were my kids. Since life has been a little hectic lately, it was hard trying to get a new picture of the kids in their element. I wanted to show their closeness and how goofy they are so my new galaxian friends could see that life on earth is made up of people and different emotions but the best I could get from them was their closeness. I would also include the picture "Land meets Sky" to remind me where I came from and to calm me. This would also help my new friends understand how some of us lived; in quiet neighborhoods and in homes. The next photos I would bring would be of the airplane in the sky to show how we traveled long distances, a picture of the redwood trees and Lake Tahoe so they could learn about nature. The picture of Lake Tahoe would also be on my wall next to my kids to remind me of a calming and tranquil place.
I keep going over this as a subject, but then the image is iconic, and the one thing I remember from being young and wanting to go.
Spaceship Earth is the iconic and symbolic structure of Epcot, a theme park that is part of the Walt Disney World Resort. One of the most recognizable structures at the Walt Disney World Resort, it is not only the centerpiece and main focal point of Epcot, but also the name of the attraction housed within the 18-story geodesic sphere that takes guests on a time machine themed experience using the Omnimover system.
