Spaceship Earth at EPCOT
"Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow "
Spaceship Earth is the iconic and symbolic structure of Epcot, the second of four theme parks built at the Walt Disney World Resort. One of the most recognizable structures of any theme park, it is also the name of the attraction that is housed within the 18-story geodesic sphere that takes guests on a time machine-themed experience using the Omnimover system.
You remember that part of Spaceship Earth where you were riding backwards downhill with blue and pink lights flashing?...
I'd been waiting for just the right day to day this during my recent trip to shoot this, not a big user of HDR but it really helped pull the detail out of the sphere :-)

Forming in 2009, Spaceship Days took their name from a lyric in a Catherine Wheel song.
After releasing a pair of albums independently ('The Halo Effect' 2009 and 'Black Holes & Butterflies 2010') to wide acclaim, the founding members of the band - Greg Torsone (guitars/production) and Chuck Cox (bass) joined forces with a new vocalist, American Idol / America's Got Talent Finalist Adam Lee Decker, and released 'The Thrill of Freefall' in March 2013.
Spaceship Days returned home, and went right back to work. After a stint playing with one of London's hottest up and coming rock acts Brian Avery (drums) returned to the States, joining the band soon after. The pop-rock outfit's 4rd album, Saving the Universe, recorded at their own Afterglow Studio was released in July 2014
Spaceship Days blends digital guitar effects, full orchestration, timeless piano, acoustic solos, rich vocal harmonies, vivid mental images, and intricate mixing techniques to create songs that have mass appeal.
Set 01 of 02.
I drew these spaceship concepts back in November of 2012. They are possible replacements for spaceship I drew in another design late last year.
My entry for the preliminary round of Bio Cup 2024. I’m a bit late to the party but I had a lot of fun building this and would love to hear feed back and criticisms.
One of the "shoot and hope for the best" photos that turned out okay with some editing in Lightroom. But my biggest annoyance with this photo is the crook in front of her face. If only I had waited another split second...

An unfinished ship, devoid of any interior, flies through space. A lonely stardroid attempts to pilot at the unfinished control deck, but to no avail. So he stares off the bridge into space.
Yeah, built this back to front, and as I got closer to the front my parts choices got more limited... The only windshield I had is ugly, and the front end really doesn't work. I need my red bricks back so this model will never be fully kitted out. I still like the idea of a two-level spaceship, but this was not the one. Plus, got my first MOC use of those train scoops.
