The first stage of the Europa II rocket with Rolls-Royce RZ-2 engines intended for launch F-14.
The Europa rocket was an early expendable launch system of the European Launcher Development Organisation (ELDO), which was the precursor to the European Space Agency (ESA). It was developed with the aim to delivering space access technology, and more specifically to facilitate the deployment of European-wide telecommunication and meteorological satellites into orbit.

WIKIPEDIA: In 1950, at the start of the Korean War, von Braun and his team were transferred to Huntsville, Alabama, his home for the next 20 years. Between 1950 and 1956, von Braun led the Army's rocket development team at Redstone Arsenal, resulting in the Redstone rocket, which was used for the first live nuclear ballistic missile tests conducted by the United States. This led to development of the first high-precision inertial guidance system on the Redstone rocket.[51]
As director of the Development Operations Division of the Army Ballistic Missile Agency (ABMA), von Braun, with his team, then developed the Jupiter-C, a modified Redstone rocket.[52] The Jupiter-C successfully launched the West's first satellite, Explorer 1, on January 31, 1958. This event signaled the birth of America's space program.
Despite the work on the Redstone rocket, the twelve years from 1945 to 1957 were probably some of the most frustrating for von Braun and his colleagues. In the Soviet Union, Sergei Korolev and his team of scientists and engineers plowed ahead with several new rocket designs and the Sputnik program, while the American government was not very interested in von Braun's work or views and only embarked on a very modest rocket-building program. In the meantime, the press tended to dwell on von Braun's past as a member of the SS and the slave labor used to build his V-2 rockets. [edit]. photo, source Google/Life 200 LIFE 8 (Free).
This is Ground Control to Major Polito... you´re approaching to the Moon really fast... the mission is going perfectly for the moment..... (Matti)
Apparently this is the thingy upon which they pull space rockets to the launch pads at Cape Canaveral. I'm afraid this picture really does it no justice as it is a massive machine close to.

Apollo 17 (Saturn 5), last trip to the moon, wide-angle B & W photo. Kennedy Space Center (Press site), December 7, 1972: All existing photos of the launch of Apollo 17 are unrepresentative of reality. The technical means in photography of that time were very limited. KSC INFO: Generating a thrust of 7.5 million pounds, a 363-foot-high Saturn V space vehicle carrying Apollo 8 Astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell and William Anders, lifted off on a planned lunar orbital mission at 7h51 a.m., EST, December 21, 1968, from the Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39a. The open-ended mission is designed to verify spacecraft systems and crew operations at lunar distances. If the flight spans its planned duration, the Apollo spacecraft would orbit the moon 10 times and would splash down approximately 1,000 miles south of Hawaii, 147 hours after liftoff. The space pilots will conduct navigational and photographic exercises to gather data for the future lunar orbit and lunar landing missions. Apollo 8 maks the first manned flight of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Saturn 5 space vehicle. Skylab was a space station launched and operated by NASA (the space agency of the United States) and was the U.S.'s first space station. Skylab orbited the Earth from 1973 to 1979, and included a workshop, a solar observatory, and other systems. Here is a model of the skylab in the National Air and Space museum displayed along with a German space rockets from the World War II era. (Washington DC, USA, Oct. 2006)

The truck transporting the rocket is a frame mounted on a truck wheels, but that is where the relation with an actual truck ends.
I was asking my wife what I should shoot tonight as I had no ideas - she said - silver foil. I sighed and said it would be too dull. She said I had no imagination (in a friendly way I should add)! So...here's a bit of fun with silver foil.
I've wondered if I could get this Clanger toy into the 366 and its great I have managed this. Anyone outside the UK is probably going to have no clue what this is all about! It's also great I could get the rocket blower into the scene.
Pierre-Paul Beaumont photo. "The last man on the moon mission": I met during the Apollo 17 mission, many journalists who covered the events of the NASA, since Mercury program and they told me that the launch of Apollo 17 was the most impressive event they saw their lives. Anyone who witnessed the launch of Apollo 17, can not forget. NASA was for me, very collaborative and available to access all the site visits and information and meetings. Happy 40th Birthday to Apollo 17 and NASA. It was a wonderful time in emotions. Dan Beaumont, danbeaumont@videotron.ca, (Dan Beaumont Space Museum on You Tube). www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yIvOYFOm6c

Rough translation:
Russian scientist:
"Did space-orphans destroy Sodom and Gomorra?
Moscow (Reuter) - In the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra, which took place according to the Bible by Godly interference because of their decadence, powers from space partook, according a theorie of Russian Physicist Agrest in the Literatoernaja Gazeta of tuesday, as cited by Tass.
Agrest bases his theory on the occurrence of glassy objects in the Libian desert, called tectites, that contain isotopes of aluminium and beryllium. The origin of the tectites is inexplicable, unless one presumes that those are debris of spacerockets from older ages. Moreover, there seem to be indications that these tectites are roughly one million years old and formed in very high temperatures and strong radiation.
The description of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra in the Jordanian Dead Sea-Scrolls must attract modern men's attention, who is knowledgable about nuclear energy. "Translated into modern language, this legend narrates that the citizens were advised to leave the area of the coming explosion, take cover and not to look at the explosion. Those who still looked lost their eyesight and persihed", according to Agrest. The Russian scientist furthermore states that beings of other planets for their space-vehicles used Baalbek's terrace, a giant platform of huge rocks in the Lebanon, of which the origin never was explained."

After squirting Mrs PB, the most dangerous resident in the Land of the Bed, it suddenly dawned on Mr Fox that this might not have been his wisest move ever. Having sped off in his nifty automobile he thought it best to take a little detour to give Mrs PB time to cool off...
Not a Fox to do things by half, his idea of a detour was little more grandiose than most's. In fact it involved blasting himself into space aboard his recently completed space rocket. Assuming a geostationary orbit above the Land of Bed he decided to treat himself to a little space stroll. According to Mr Fox such strolls are even more satisfying than terrestrial ones!!
Regrettably, Mr Fox's incredible adventure had to be aborted, when a certain unauthorized someone started hurling abuse down the intercom! His glass dome reverberating to Mrs PB's shrieks, Mr Fox thought it best to return to his spaceship before anything cracked! Back aboard, and now perilously low on chicken pie, the Foxmonaut decided it was probably time to return. He didn't bank on Mrs PB waiting at the landing site, rolling pin elevated. He'd been outdone by his own navigational precision and rigorous planning, paying with that all too familiar cronk to his head.
Having just this minute finished photographing the whole assembly, brick by brick, and then detail shots I thought I would get just 2x shots up prior to uploading the assembly video here and in youtube. ( in a few days time !)

Excellent set by the way !
