This is another from yesterday’s shoot but with a different colour scheme that I was actually trying out first. The floating top I find harder to get with my set up so I do like it when I get nice ones. Reminds me of a spaceship... thus the title (also being a song).

Thank you all so much for your comments and faves on my stuff!

(Technical details as yesterday’s, 2 Jessops flashes on 1/16th power).

Harkening back to my Revenge of the Fifth picture, I had an idea - I think I’m going to make a series album called Spaceman Sith.

Transfiguration class goes wrong…or did it?

Every childs childhood dream was to surely be an Astronaut. Very, very few ever do, the rest of us just continue the dream.

Ha! All these years photographing Lego and I never knew I had one of these.

I went to our cellar trying to find some Lego tread bricks in an old box of Lego down there, that is a box of my Lego, not the kid's. I didn't find the treads but I found a red spaceman I never knew I had. How could I forget something like this? I have no idea.

I haven't looked back that much over the years, except for this photo and some old scale model things. My old toys have done their job, but I am still very happy I found this. Seeing the cracked helmet made me smile, it's like I found Benny's lost brother.

I just had to shoot it on a 2001-esque setup with no cleaning, dust and all, it's a document of life.

Oh, and there were several of those LEGO printed bricks.

The LEGO Spaceman has been in Space since 1978, exploring strange new worlds and travelling to galaxies far far away....

When bed time comes they put on theirs pyjamas and dream of Planet Earth because even the bravest Spaceman gets a little homesick.

If you ever wondered how they keep smiling I'll let you in on their secret.... milk and cookies before going to bed. ;) Just don't go to bed before brushing your teeth.

Saurez-vous reconnaître ce qu'il y a en arrière plan ?

Hi everyone! I'm sorry, it's been a very long time since I've been active on here. Despite my love for LEGO still, my interests have moved to a lot of other things. Obviously, that has left me with less time to paint figures and post. A more recent hobby is painting Warhammer figures. I'd love to get everyone's opinion on whether I should post those, or simply stick to mini figures. I hope all is well with everyone!

Ready for adventure! Expired Polaroid 108 film

The purple spaceman is technically not canon…but ever since collectible series 22 came out with the “Space Creature” with a purple space logo torso, Classic Space AFOLs have been cobbling together a new minifig as best they could. New sets eventually came out that had the right color helmet, arms, hands and legs but there was still much debate about how to create a set of purple airtanks with shades and types of paint discussed. Eventually a Chinese New Year set had the right color airtanks and the scramble was on. I have not tried myself because the parts can be expensive and hard to find. Today at Brickworld Chicago a vendor had this one that they’d assembled on their minifig wall with other spacemen and although it wasn’t cheap, it was less than it’d cost me to acquire the separate parts so it was an easy “yes”.
