I finally got the chance to sneak into an old abandoned Soviet barrack. I found 3 interesting buildings there.

In fact, it isn't just a memorial, it's where some 2000+ Soviet soldiers killed for the battle of Berlin (April-May 1945) are buried.

Couldn't resist this one. It's as solidly Russian as a T34 tank and would crush an Italian or Japanese equivalent between its double spring operated parallelogram. It's a new and unused piece but its origins are sketchy. Disraeli Gears provides some interesting information. The city of Perm 1000 miles east of Moscow is where the factory was located and seems to lend its name to the derailleur which likley had nothing more than a product number in its day. Is there any other components that might have matched up? Did the Russians have a groupset tough enough to deal with the harsh Soviet winter?

Танцевальная площадка городского парка культуры и отдыха была построена в 1970-х гг. польскими строителями, работавшими в Новополоцке. Это был подарок от Польской Народной Республики и членов партии за гостеприимство и оказанное содействие в строительстве международного нефтегазопровода. На сегодняшний день - брошена и практически не используется.

The dance floor of the city park of culture and recreation was built in the 1970s by Polish builders working in Novopolotsk. It was a gift from the Polish People's Republic and party members for belarusian hospitality and assistance in the construction of an international oil and gas pipeline. Today it is abandoned and practically not used.

A simple but powerful graphic. This direction was all but lost in later years after the Revolution. The Soviet officials wanted full blown heroic illustrated realism, at least their idea of what realism was or should be. Designed by Vladimar Lebedev 1920.
