So at the end of the first phase, the Russians have succssfully entered the village. They did take a few loses. The Pak 38 did take out the KV in the foreground and put one shock point on a T34. The Soviet right hand infantry company lost 2 sections-17 men overall. The lefthand company also lost a few men. One of the ATR teams is down and a couple of crew from the MMGs have been hit. They are still a pretty potent force with 2) KVs and 5) T34s. meanwhile the Germans had almost their entire leftside platoon eliminated. 2) MMGs are gone and the infantry gun crew has also been zapped. However the reinforcements/counterattack force has just come on the table and the remaining grenadiers on the right side of the village are also capable of swinging around to take back the village.

So I thought I'd get a Soviet/Russian plate carrier for my Russian airsoft/ Metro 2033 stuff. It smells like death (as I've come to expect from any Russian gear) and is beat up, but I don't really mind the condition of it (it's not going to be in the best condition after 20 years in the Metro, no?)
svema brand film from the ussr. i bought this in berlin and a few other spots in northern/northeastern europe years ago. after bringing home the shot rolls i found that no lab would process it at a rate i was willing to pay, so that led to learning how to develop film on my own. i hope i have the notes i took back then on what methods worked best as i still have a couple of unused rolls, thought it being 20 years past due probably means that no matter what i do it'll be a bit messy.
svema, a ukrainian firm, stopped producing film in 2000, so these are probably the last relic rolls i'll be able to work with. as well, this is the older type 1981 stock, and although it's possible to still source it, i'm not sure it's worth the effort. i have an old russian twin lens camera that it would be entertaining to run some native film through, though, if i can locate that.

The Soviet War Memorial (Tiergarten) is one of several war memorials in Berlin, capital city of Germany, erected by the Soviet Union to commemorate its war dead, particularly the 80,000 soldiers of the Soviet Armed Forces who died during the Battle of Berlin in April and May 1945.
The memorial is located in the Tiergarten, a large public park to the west of the city centre, on the north side of the east-west Strasse des 17 Juni (17 June Street).
Despite the efforts of de-Russianization and de-Sovietization, Soviet remnants like this are not uncommon
At the time of the breakaway, they were worried Moldova would simply join Romania, swamping them linguistically, culturally, economically and politically. Whether the war prevented that, or was even more pointless in light of the fact that union never came to pass, is a moot point.
The Kilo class is the NATO reporting name for a naval diesel-electric attack submarine that is made in Russia. The original version of the vessels were designated Project 877 Paltus (Halibut) in Soviet Union.
There is also a more advanced version, designated as Improved Kilo-class submarine in the West, and Project 636 Varshavyanka in Russia.
