A Russian Soviet-era "Laika" brand cigarrete packet.
Laika was the dog sent into space by the USSR in 1957. She survived the launch and several orbits of the earth, but perished during the flight, there being neither the intention nor the technical ability to retrieve her alive.
As well as being commemorated by this cigarette brand, she appeared on postage stamps and has her own small statue in Moscow.
The basic packet design was apparently in use for many years, this one is probably printed in the early 1980s.
The Soviet War Memorial near the Brandenburg Gate was erected in what was to be the British Sector of the city shortly after the fall of berlin the Red Army. The fact that it was in the British Sector led to there always being Soviet Army contingent, albeit small, in the Western part of the city to guard the Memorial. That arrangment continued until the re-unification of Berlin.

One of the crapiest cameras I once owned was a japanese 6x6 twin Lens called Firstflex that dated from the 50´s. A camera that looked nice and promising, but. I hadn’t tested it before bringing it to a roadtrip in Germany some time around 2011. Big mistake!
Every picture taken with it turned out to be blurry. The next year I went back to this very same place with a better camera but the building and its wall paintings was all gone, reduced to rubble by bulldozers.
Better try the camera before the trip, I learned! The Firstflex ended up in a bag for the thrift shop, adios, bon voyage!
Post scriptum: With the ongoing russian special looting and killing operation in Ukraine, I find the subject of soviet ruins not so funny and appealing anymore.

Yes, that's a Soviet military map of Hove, Sussex, England. With military targets (factories, dock, power station and Town Hall) clearly marked. The B-413 served from 1969 to 1990 in the Soviet Northern Fleet. She visited Havana, Cuba and Conakry Guinea in 1969. In 1987, she was recognized by the Northern Fleet Commander in Chief as an Honor Ship for her exemplary mine-laying performance. From 1991 to 1999 the B-413 operated as a unit of the Baltic Fleet. Shortly after her decommissioning, she was transferred to the Museum of the World Ocean in July 2000. In August 2000 the Museum conducted a fundraising campaign for the families of crewmembers who perished in the submarine Kursk. Aboard the B-413 is an exhibit entitled "The History of the Russian Undersea Fleet".
