First look at Sotheby's Auction House's new location in the Marcel Breuer designed building. The building was built in 1966 and served as the third home of the Whitney Museum which moved downtown in October, 2014. The building next displayed temporary contemporary art exhibits for the Met Museum. Then while the Frick Collection underwent renovations, the Breuer building displayed that museum's collection. In 2024 Sotheby's bought the building and it opened to the public in November, 2025

The faux Sotheby's International Real Estate office is an art project in Bombay Beach. It has been there for several years, surrounded by chain link fences and decaying trailers. I am surprised Sotheby's has not sued to get the project removed. Needless to say there are no properties listed with Sotheby's in Bombay Beach.
Happy Fence Friday!
Look at that styling! 1953!!! I'm floored.

I had thought this car was a light gray, but the auction website shows this as a white vehicle. On the web, I looked up other images of this vehicle, and the results show variations from white to light gray. Perhaps my photos are a bit dark in comparison.

Station Wagon the badge indicates. IMHO, this proves the notion that Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is but a "marketing spin" term for a station wagon. It doesn't matter if a station wagon or SUV is based on a car or truck platform. It is spin, spin, spin.
