Im Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war bei Gott, und das Wort war Gott.
Im Anfang war es bei Gott.
Alles ist durch das Wort geworden, und ohne das Wort
wurde nichts, was geworden ist.

Take your Time is a large circular mirror fixed to the ceiling at an angle. The mirror rotates slowly on its axis, which creates a whirling sensation, destabilizing the viewer’s perception of space. The artwork is installed above the monumental, double-helix staircase, a position which adds a playful albeit disorienting effect as one arrives at its highest point. Engaging with the viewer’s movement, but also with light, reflection, and the elements of architecture and surrounding space, this work offers an enchanting experience. It is a new interpretation specifically created for the site of LUMA Arles.

Yeah right, dew drops.
Not at 6% humidity.
I had to help it along with my spritz bottle. Got up at the crack of dawn before the wind started but even then there can be air movement. Doing these requires quite a bit of patience.
Water drops don't want to hang on just any branch and they don't linger, even a strong exhaling can send them to the ground.

Low tide at Stonehaven Harbour, Aberdeenshire.
Stonehaven Harbour was first built prior to 1607 but was destroyed by storms.
It was repaired and again destroyed by storms. In 1678 it was built more robustly but this too broke up under the force of the North Sea.
A new plan was drawn up in 1825 by Robert Stevenson and the Harbour works were constructed successfully.

Azaleas are exploding with colors, bringing. out the artists and their paints. Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland was absolutely stunning yesterday with many more azaleas budding up to add to the display.

From my trip to the Valley of the Gods and the Mexican Hat area.
It was an overcast November morning but eventually the dull, flat mood gave way to the sun. I had been to this location a few month earlier and was very happy to show it to my wife. It looked exactly the same as in the summer due to the lack of vegetation. Rocks don't change with the seasons, and the small bushes and grasses were maybe al little browner than they were in the summer. But that is about it.
It turned into a nice day and we drove up the Moki Dugway to see the valley from above, then we ended up at the San Juan Goosenecks for a spectacular sunset.
A nice, quiet parkup for the night at the Cairnwell Pass, Glenshee.
The road reaches its maximum elevation of 670 metres (2,199 ft) above sea level, which makes it, at this point, the highest public road in the United Kingdom.
Another water surface abstract. It's just me trying something different. Sometimes it is good to see the familiar in unfamiliar ways.
We're looking at the rocks below the water's surface, distorted by the movement of the water.

After a week of clouds and rain, we had a nice evening again. I stopped at a city park that I drive by frequently and walked through the rose garden section. It is very popular, people come by and sniff the roses or sit on a bench and enjoy the ambiance. The sun was already low on the horizon and spilled some nice light. Perfect for working with the camera.
I had been thinking about photographing this funky part of downtown Santa Fe for a while. Initially I thought it might be best to be under the arcade and get all the lanterns in a row, but that wasn't so. There are too many shop signs hanging from the ceiling, obscuring the lamps, so I finally settled on a view from across the street.
Planning on a day to night conversion, I went there around midday. It was an overcast day, perfect for what I'm trying to do. But wouldn't you know, just when I started shooting the clouds started thinning enough so the sun could throw shadows. That makes it harder to simulate a dusk situation, when there should be no shadows other than from artificial light.
After I was happy with what I got I went for a treat at the French Pastry Shop in the La Fonda Hotel, which is right around the corner. People who know me know that I have a sweet tooth.
