Happy Bokeh Wednesday

Thank you for taken your time to visit me, comments or faves are

always much appreciated!

There is a swatch of state land adjacent to all the private properties along my road and I thought I might find a nice winter scene there.

I'm not a great woodland photographer, I have a hard time dealing with the chaotic growth of the Piñon/Juniper forests around here.

A slight fog hanging around that particular morning enabled me to separate the foreground tree from the busy background. The fog was thicker an hour earlier, but hey, I'll take what I can get.

Happy Tree mendous Tuesday

The title is a quote from Kahlil Gibran that came to mind as she walked under the trees:

"Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky. We fell them down and turn them into paper, that we may record our emptiness."

The ruins of Finlarig Castle. Finlarig Castle is an early 17th-century castle standing on a mound on a peninsula between the River Lochay and Loch Tay, just over 1⁄2 mile North of Killin in Stirling, Scotland . Built in 1629 by 'Black' Duncan Campbell (Donnchadh Dubh) of Glenorchy, the castle is an L-plan tower-house, formerly protected by an outer enclosure or barmekin, which is now in a dangerously ruinous condition.

Photographed in Docklands, near Collins Square, in Melbourne, Australia.

Someone is crawling through the wet grass in the early morning, but who?

Well me of course, trying to be a bug, trying to imagine what a beetle might see and think.

Should I go left up that stalk or to the right to who knows where?

How about I go straight, down that illuminated path into the light... its so beautiful....

Testing the 500 mm to take some pics of the "Blood" Moon. Since there was much less light than regular moon, it was very hard to get the correct focus (almost impossible to me at least) I was forced to use long time exposures (since raising the ISO even more ends up with LOT of noise)... Not the best shoot for sure, but it’s something.

Happy Fence Friday

round pushpin Vrije vertaling:

"Værkjes zomerboerderij"

of:

"Bergboerderij van Værkjes"

De huisjes op de achtergrond zijn typische seter-hutten, vaak eeuwenoud, en traditioneel gebouwd van hout. Zulke plekken vind je in bergachtige streken van Noorwegen zoals Telemark, Valdres, of Sogn og Fjordane."

A young orangutan is usually seen with its mother, learning essential skills by observing her. However, this young male stays close to an alpha male, following him like a shadow. While keeping a safe distance, he is learning vital survival skills for life in the jungle, preparing for his future role as a leader.

She spoke to no one,

yet the trees leaned in—

each step a secret,

each glance a hymn.

In the hush of moss and memory,

the forest listened.

Like the gentle waves and the whispering breeze, my love for you flows endlessly—calm, deep, and forever true.

I think these cliffs have a reptilian look to them.

My Aurora App was showing there was a possibility of strong show so took the camera round the back of the house.

In the 1960s, there were many illiterate migrants living in Kwai Chai Hong, the old Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur. This mural shows a Chinese calligrapher helping the residents to write letters home, probably to mainland China.

Echo at Hatteras, enjoying the good weather - before the Nor’easter hit and hung around for four days. Two houses collapsed in to the ocean - not the one we were in thankfully, but we were very oceanfront and very nervous as the tides whipped closer and closer with every day. We were relieved when the storm passed - until we lost all communication with the outside world thanks to the cable carrying it all being accidentally cut - on Friday the 13th no less. An emergency alert did make it to my cell phone after a few hours to say there was no way to reach anyone - including 911 - so to drive to nearest fire or medical facility in the event of an emergency….It took about 14 hours for service to be restored and of course there was another thunderstorm. We survived, so yay for that. Trips to Hatteras are never dull.

Ichikokutochi Tabeba Chaya, or Tateba Tea House, lies on a section of the Nakasendo trail between Magome-juku and Tsumago-juku near Magome Pass (Japan). The tea house is around 250 years old and has been preserved as a free rest and refreshment spot for travellers. Today it is run by volunteers, one of whom is shown here tending to the fire in the irori, a traditional sunken hearth.
