What a morning! My husband and I took a trip to Moab last week to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. Only got to spend one morning shooting the sunrise while we were there but what a morning it was!

I had a some fun turning night into day a few weekends ago when I was kick'n it in Ocean Shores, WA.

Christmas 2007.
My sister sent this pic to me, nicely framed, in our recent Christmas box. It's from the previous Christmas when she had her first dog mushing ride ! We had a total blast! It was so nice to share that with her. She added a note: "I tell the story so often , and never tire of it. Most people are awe struck to imagine mushing for real, and in the "real" chill (what was it, -22 degrees that day) of Alaska. I look forward to doing it yet again, perhaps next Christmas."
Bravo! Next year you might graduate to your own sled. I would hope it's a bit warmer and we can explore a bit farther on the trails. The dogs, and especially Sandy, send their greetings.

Our fun day at BlytheconLA 2018 - just meeting everyone in person was so fun but meeting up prior just made it extra special! Looking forward to this group in Vegas 2024 - everyone's invited the more the merrier :D

St. Maartens has one of the shortest run-ways and the planes come in very low.
This is taken from Sunset Cafe as the planes are landing. So cool to watch. I stayed away from the beach side because of the amount of sand that is kicked up by the jet engines. I still got sand but not as much.
We went over here several times and it was always a "blast".

i miss posting my film photos here. i've got so many to share and scan that it is overwhelming. the best way to remedy that is to share more and scan more… let's get back to it, shall we?
We went Go-kart racing today...I wasn't allowed on with the kids in case I ran them off the track;-) I had to go on with the adults!!
It was sooooo much fun. My fastest time was 52seconds around a 2 km track. What a hoon!!!! lol
hope that you don't feel bored with this series, bcuz I have many thousands more. hehe

A Flickr contact made a great suggestion. Take a crop of my previous photo and create an abstract. Then he really knocked me out with the idea to turn it upsidedown!
I guess it makes sense that a crop of an {explored} shot does the same... ;)

after i finished the first bird, i immediately worked on the second one.
i want to carve more and more. still thinking what should i carve next........
So for this theme I had to use 3 pictures and it still doesn't sum up the one of the best dolly memories.
For Blythecon LA I had my lovely friend from AU come out and stay about a month and we did so many fun things and saw so many fun places. One of the things I planned was some of the gals going to the Con came over to my house for a big dolly pool party. So I got to meet Jeds123 - Mandy and her lovely cousin from England. That was so fun, then later that weekend we all went to the Con and had a blast!!! I would love to do more times like this. Getting to know people and seeing their fun dolls was a blast!!!
i had "first date jitters", skyping a flickrfriend, but kristin is SO lovely, the nervous went away. straight away you're talking and in each others homes. the boys made faces, enjoying looking at themselves more than anything, and casey is a cutie-pie.
it's been so wonderful to make a connection through our photography, and now we've "met" each other.

Nikki and Roz suggested a group shot of all the happibugs in attendance, so they all obediently gathered for a quick shot before running out across the grass to play again!
It was fun to see them all together!

This over-the-top, wildly pink & gold ballroom is located in the famous Madonna Inn San Luis Obispo, CA. Mrs. Madonna loved pink and incorporated into every part of the hotel & restaurant We took our granddaughter their for lunch on Friday and she loved it!! There are 2 bars and a large dance floor and it really is something to see. I thought this would work for the split tone challenge.
Of course I did it OVER THE TOP to match this OVER THE TOP ballroom.
**Side note: I have a friend whose father was head carpenter at The Madonna Inn and she celebrated her 16th birthday with a big private party in this ballroom.

It has been awhile... somehow all my attempts to end my "ghost state" here have failed ;-) and I'm very sorry about that!! I definitely miss you and your work! And I always learned so much from you...! Therefore I'll try to appear at least from time to time, probably it won't be possible to comment on your work and to post my stuff regularly - or as regular as it has been in the past - but we'll see ;-)...
I'm going to post two iPhone videos, one (mostly) of SF, one of AZ (Phoenix, Sedona, Flagstaff...) where I've spent 2,5 weeks in May.
And I definitely left my heart on this side of the world.......... (and 3 min. aren't long enough for sentimental memory videos, btw. :-))..!!).
Thanks a lot to all for watching and for your patience in general! I'll try my best to visit your photo streams asap! ;-). P. S.: Just looked at the videos on flickr and am definitely shocked and a bit frustrated and sad about the bad quality! Not sure how much they have compressed them, but the difference to the original ones is immense... I'm very sorry... I wouldn't have posted them in such a bad quality, especially the time lapse parts are totally blurred... thanks a lot for your kindness and encouragement despite that, my dear flickr friends... how good that I've taken more than 2000 pics with my camera during my time there :-)...... :-))

Ok, I had a great day!!! I went to the barbecue and caught up with a friend, then afterwards I went to dinner with several friends... The conversation was great, but the food was mediocre, still a lot of fun though! After dinner we bowled and I did pretty well. I bowled 4 games:
