I saw this beautiful tuxedo cat yesterday evening while I was out walking on the trail. She was friendly and she seemed to be well cared for, so I sat with her for awhile before we went our separate ways. I suspected she is the same cat I met last year around this time, only at that time she had a collar. Looking through my files, I see that she is indeed the same cat. I also saw my buddy Frankie, who I hadn't seen for several weeks.

Since March this year I started to follow Streetart Frankey and hunt for his work...
Location: Vijzelgracht (metro entrance) corner Prinsengracht, Amsterdam center.
Coordinates: 52°36'19" N 4°89'14" E
Reason: Streetart Frankey is one of my favorite Dutch street artists at the moment. He is giving the city little often unremarkable surprises. Every week a photo with one of his recent works appears in the supplement to the newspaper Het Parool. A great opportunity to take a closer look at his work. Sometimes you have to search to find it and sometimes it is already gone.
Rubik's Cube: This Rubik's Cube popped up in the morning of 11/07/2020 in the Vijzelstraat and I immediately went to the scene to take a closer look. Frankey was inspired by Rubik Cube for this art object which is actually a fire hydrant cupboard.
The Rubik's Cube is a 3-D combination puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik. Originally called the Magic Cube, the puzzle was licensed by Rubik to be sold by Ideal Toy Corp. in 1980 via businessman Tibor Laczi and Seven Towns founder Tom Kremer. Rubik's Cube won the 1980 German Game of the Year special award for Best Puzzle. As of January 2009, 350 million cubes had been sold worldwide, making it the world's top-selling puzzle game. Streetart Frankey: Street Art Frankey (pseudonym of Frank de Ruwe) is a Dutch artist who wants to positively influence the street scene with relatively small and often inconspicuous works of art.
He grew up in Nijmegen, father was an inventor at Philips Netherlands. He studied at Delft University of Technology (Industrial design). In daily life director of and working for design collective Natwerk. In Amsterdam, many of his works in the street art category can be found on buildings, streets and bridges, often in addition to existing building elements. He himself about his work;
"I want to push boundaries. Art has no boundaries, that's why I like it so much."
In 2019, a special page has been dedicated to his art in Het Parool for a number of years; first he took care of that section himself, later he had to leave that work to others because of busy work. A little later his work Eberhard van der Laan appeared above the entrance of Paradiso.
One of the works that inspired him is the Boomzagertje in the Leidsebosje, a work by an as yet unknown artist.

Tonight was a visit with Dave and Carol to go and see Cybermatt.
Rather than another view out of his very, very high windows (which in fairness, I did take) I've snapped some of his amazing minifigures.
Matt has just got himself the Death Star Lego Set, and as you'd expect from a three hundred quid set, you get lots of very cool minifigures.
I can't believe they modelled the swiss roll Leia hair!

Yes. We go out in public like this. I was good enough to wear a tie to our friend's wedding ceremony, but it came off during the party afterward. And since we did this little photo shoot after getting home around one o'clock in the morning, I wasn't about to put it back on again.
For those requesting video of our song... heh. Well I'd like to see it too. Really, we have no idea if anyone was shooting video at the time, but if anyone was... and it's decent... maybe I'll put it up.

Bigger, scarier, and much less ridiculously sharp here.
There are many ways to take panoramic pictures. Then there's this way: Missing part of the picture.
Yes, the left end of the picture isn't just clipped, it was actually never shot. Even though I meticulously took 7 other composing shots for the rest of the picture.
Bah.
I don't know why but I went outside today.
I actually felt like I had to go, but at that moment I wasn't even dressed. So I showered, got dressed and ran out in like 5 minutes. My hair wasn't even dry yet. I went to the top of a huge hill that stands in front of my house and shot a million photos, and so many of them were good. Surprisingly enough, since it was so windy I could lean against the wind and not fall. And it was cold as hell.
That hairdo came out of the blue....the wind made it go craaaazy.
I don't really know why I like this photo. I look like someone else then me.
I wasn't even trying to pose, I was just trying to shield myself and my camera from the wind...

This young lady was sitting on a little grassy knoll right in a spot of sunlight between a couple of trees, sipping a Caribou coffee and reading a book.
Somehow, that struck me as the ideal thing to do on a nice summer evening in Chicago. Every single day. Except, of course, I have to work.

My first major league baseball game. We had box tickets on the Mezzanine Level, with drinks, food and everything!
Unfortunately, I had to go to the game straight from work, so I couldn't take my camera along. The iPhone though, has a cool panorama app called "PanoLab". Too bad it only exports to 1024x768 (the free version only), or I'd have stitched in the other pictures too. Maybe I'll do it on Photoshop later this week.

Finally, I found the right look for this picture. I sensed a really nice product in this image, but somehow, I never liked any processing technique that I did on it.
I've only recently begun to start believing in using Photoshop or other such image editing tools as a real post-processing option. I'm beginning to see how using Photoshop correctly (without destroying the original photograph!) is an art in itself.
