I took a walk in the woods to clear my mind. There was a light that broke through the mist and gave me solutions...
How many people can remember that red plastic container of bubble solution with the stick inside that you can blow through to make bubbles? This is thought I had when I rested my tripod on Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast.
The weight of the sky and all of its fabulous sunset glory was a perfect way to cap off an incredible day in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
There is nothing I enjoy watching more through my macro lens than a film of bubble solution before it pops. The level of activity is quite amazing. It reminds me of psychedelic art during the 1960s counterculture. Groovy!
And here's the solution of 'in what it is', (see first comment box if you missed yesterday's photo) There are 4 units, when assembled, you get this 'hollow cube'. Only the top and bottom are closed.
It is always a nice challenge to let the person, (who receives it as a gift), assemble it themselves. A bit of a puzzle, but one always succeeds!
Thanks for all your nice comments, I enjoyed reading them ;-))

Quatrième photo d'une série de quatre sur les changements climatiques.

Fourth photo of a series of four on climate change.
The climate change conference in Paris is happening now, it is time to reflect and take action. What will we do with what we know?
I came across a slew of small Kansas towns this past summer, but this one was wonderful and photogenic. Unfortunately, I can't remember its name. But I found this old Chrysler and couldn't resist.

What does it take to understand that guns kill? Why do we insist upon having guns? Can we think, instead of being governed by fear?
Violence only adds to more violence. Start with eliminating poverty and creating more equality thereby eliminating squalor, indignity, hunger, death and desperation. Try a little love, it goes a long way and does not create violence! History repeats itself, violence has never been and never will be the solution, helping one another in a peaceful way does make a difference, the damage has been done, so it won't be easy but it is better than violence.
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜
CP empty grain train no.331 is on the pull out of Toronto after making a two car setoff as well as fuelling up the engines and swapping crews. Apparently the leader here had multiple defects reported, one of which being a broken bell button which was being held together by a band-aid. Paraphrasing, but the conversation on the scanner went something along the lines of this:
Crew: "so you want us to just go ahead when there's literally a band-aid holding this button in place? It's kind of disgusting"
West Tower: "That is correct, I'm sure the band-aid is there specifically to hold that button in place, not like it came off someone, the planner said to just go ahead and leave because he's unable to fix it here on the spot".
Never a dull moment around these parts.
The Anastasia Formation extends for 2 miles north along the shoreline with cliffs up to 15 feet high at the House of Refuge. Looking south from the end of the boardwalk, Bathtub Reef is visible.
Immediately ahead is an outcrop with small burrows, aminated crusts, solution pipes, a notch and an abrasion platform, and a mass of collapsed rock. Moving north along the beach moving toward the House of Refuge, there are several outcrops with conspicuous notches.
At the House of Refuge are prominent planar bedding, many fossils (including Busycon), small and large burrows, thick laminated calcium carbonate crusts, lithified infillings, solution pipes, notched cliffs, promontories and small coves, and many large masses of collapsed bedrock.

A provisional motif on the banks of the Naab. On 5 September 2024, I paid a visit to the KBS 855 and devoted myself to learning about the route from a photographer's point of view. There are several options near Nabburg. However, I realised that the familiar spots on the banks of the Naab were quite overgrown. During the wet summer, the shrubbery had shot up. In the end, I found the location shown here as a compromise solution. The freshly refurbished 218 438 with the RE 4861 from Hof to Munich main station was of course worth a picture.
Amsterdam - Admiralengracht / Van Kinsbergenstraat.
Residential block, built in 1926 to a design by Bureau Gulden and Geldmaker.
This block does have an unmistakable "Amsterdam School" appearance, especially due to the attractive corner solution.
Architects Gulden and Geldmaker excel in usually more sober designs, but they could indeed come up with expressive designs (amsterdamse-school.nl).
The Amsterdam School is a style of architecture that arose from 1910 through about 1930 in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam School movement is part of international Expressionist architecture, sometimes linked to German Brick Expressionism (Wp).
The alps : probably the symbol of Switzerland !
Don't you find strange that when you have a photographic interest of any subject, the best solution is not to go directly to it, but to stay remote in order to have a global view ? For example, most of good pictures of castles are not taken from the castle, but precisely a few km away.
It's the same situation here : I am about 100 Km away of the Berner Oberland and the Alps, on another Mountain Range : the Jura. Between me and these mountains there's at least two lakes. However, it's probably one of the best place - better than the alps themselves - where you can see what alps really are : a chain crossing the horizon from east to west.
This place is absolutely beautiful in the morning when the air is clear. That day, it rained between me and the Alps, giving this graphic aspects for the clouds.

where does this road go?
to this guy's place. a guy who did some very bad shit. in fact, in my opinion, he doesn't deserve to live.
whoa. that's a little extreme, isn't it?
and then after what he did, the guy says, you can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead fingers. so I say, you know what? sounds like a good idea to me.
land of the free, home of the brave. right?
to the max.

Frustrated over the amount of mail he has to handle each winter, Santa came up with a brilliant solution, that not only freed him from the drudgery of reading badly spelt wish-lists, but also knocked a considerable amount off his heating bill.
So this winter, send Santa a long list to keep him warm :)
