Like rose petals, soft and delicate,
floating on a breath of morning air.
Moments drift in gentle light,
unfolding slow, weightless as a dream.
This sea view picture was taken on the island of Emäsalo, Porvoo on a frosty afternoon. The shooting weather was perfect with the temperature -12°C (DSC03694-2).

Strange old weather we've been having here this week. Saturday, the day before this picture was taken, we had a pleasant -17c as a night time temperature. Sunday morning when I ventured out to a lake to get this shot I stood in -10c conditions waiting for the sunrise to appear. Sadly this was the best it got. Monday we had an almighty snow storm come through only for it to turn +4c and rain. Lots of rain. Today we're back at -6c.
Anyway I was glad it was cold enough for the lake to freeze over so that someone could toss a rock out when the ice was a little thinner and then freeze over into this pattern. Not often I get to walk on water, I didn't go too far out - probably 10 meters from the edge but still - I walked on water!
Missing the warmer months is all part my attraction to the four seasons. As I write today November 22, 2024 there are snow flurries here in Pennsylvania. The gardens here give this “Soft Beauty” from the Spring months into the Fall. As much as I like the warm weather I need my four seasons. Thanks for visiting my photographs and for your honest comments.

life inside a tulip. I'm currently waiting to hear how my brother's hip operation went this afternoon. I phoned him this morning and he said he was terrified. Friends kindly took him to the hospital and we shall visit him tomorrow and Friday, combining it with a trip to the cottage - so I shall be away for a short while . . . back soon . . .
