On the way back from the Voltaire concert, Carolyn was driving down the road when suddenly she realized she was being pulled over. Surprised, and unaware of why she was pulled over, some people walking down the other side of the street told her to turn her headlights on. Carolyn checked her headlight switch, and it was on. Carolyn noticed the reflection in the parked car in front of her indicated that the headlights were not on. As she was switching them on and off, the cop walked up and informed her the headlights weren't on.
Carolyn tried to show him how they weren't working, and the cop leaned in and turned on the fog lights. He said to Carolyn, "There they go. Have you been drinking?" Carolyn replied, "One beer". Needless to say, Carolyn had to get out and do a sobriety test. The cop used the pen method and Carolyn thought it was pretty funny. Of course, she was praying that one beer wouldn't make her fail the test. Then she realized the cop was trying to trick her by slowing the pen down and speeding it up. Then suddenly he stopped the pen. Then he kind of laughed, and handed Carolyn's ID back and said "Make sure to keep your headlights on". Carolyn tried to wait a bit for the cop to leave, but when she pulled out, she ended up behind the cop anyway. She hoped he wouldn't notice that the only headlights she had at this point were foglights. We made it home with no further incident.
The next day, Carolyn went and checked her headlights and discovered that the right fog-light was also burned out. That meant they drove home from DC with only 1 foglight. D'oh!

Students Baking 10,000 Cookies for Law Enforcement Officers: Delcastle Technical HS Students Thank Officers for DUI Enforcement
Delaware Governor Jack Markell stopped by to cheer and thank culinary students at Delcastle Technical High School. The students are baking cookies for every law enforcement officer in Delaware as a token of thanks for staffing sobriety checkpoints over the holidays. The students aim to make more than 10,000 cookies by working overnight in a marathon baking session.
Children from surrounding elementary schools are on hand to decorate cookie boxes along with students from other career areas at Delcastle. Dana Herbert, winner of TLC’s “Next Cake Boss”, as well as the Chick-Fil-A cow visited to join in the activities.
This year’s delivery will be dedicated to Sgt. Joseph Szczerba, killed in the line in September.

Josh tries to convince us that he isn't drunk, by walking in a straight line. It is reminiscent of Jeremy Piven's impression of the Port Chester whooping crane.

Mike and I spotted this rare wburg specimen parading outside a performance art space while we ate ice cream. I shot these photos to prove sobriety.
Final Sobriety date, with the help of my Higher Power and AA, and family and friends, I never have to drink again!
