Wade tells me this is one of my signature shots.

A small and strange looking Sobeys along Broadview in Toronto. Exterior and interior wise the store features the standard Sobeys store design from around the mid-2000s.

Based on part of the old façade that faces Broadview, I would say that this Sobeys was an IGA at some point, probably of the Garden Market IGA variety. Unfortunately however, I am not sure of the exact history of this store.

Probably my favourite quirk of this store is how the frozen foods section is oddly contained within a random corner of the store. You don't see this all too often at other Sobeys locations.

My friend Phil works as the New Media Specialist (coordinator) for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. He's been introducing a lot of new social networking/marketing tools as part of his job (YouTube channel, facebook group, blog) and has organized live blogging at a few different ESO events. Every summer the ESO performs at Hawrelak Park for the Symphony Under the Sky (main sponsor is the grocery chain Sobeys so it is actually called the Sobeys Symphony Under the Sky or SSUTS). Saturday evening's performance was Night at the Movies, featuring selections from nearly all the main film genres. Summer seems to have ended almost as abruptly as it arrived, and the weather was freezing. I will be attending SSUTS on Sunday night as well, for the Classical Mystery Tour (Beatlemania).

Sobeys Stores, Ltd., Head Office Stellarton, Nova Scotia

Back when Target announced its impending invasion of Canadian retail spaces, the Lawson Heights Mall location was an impending location. Prior to Target taking over this space, there was a Zellers store that was almost gutted. During the renovation, they also included an addition to the structure. Fast forward to 2017, when Sobeys takes over... and the addition that Target built has been demolished.

It was announced yesterday that 4 Sobey's store are closing for good. This location, the Heritage Location, Downtown location, and the IGA on Stony Plain Road. I kind of knew this one would kick the bucket sooner or later.

For Billy, who lost his sweet brownie boy Sobey suddenly yesterday. I took the liberty of editing this shot of them with Picnik.
