Very happy with how this turned out..it's a very smooth feeling soap and I love the color from the carrot juice (I wonder if it will fade a bit as it cures). This is unscented, however the wheat germ oil scent is pretty prominent right now, smells
good!

Following the restoration of Spanish rule and Catholic worship in Antwerp in 1585, the city fathers ordered the crafts and guilds to reinstall their altars in the Cathedral. Among the first to respond were the Schoolmasters and the Soap-boilers, who shared an altar in the church. They contracted Frans Francken to paint a triptych showing Jesus among the Doctors. (The left wing depicts St Ambrose Baptising St Augustine, while the right wing the Miracle of the Flowing Oil.)
The scenes plainly have most to do with the schoolmasters. The centre panel shows the episode from St Luke's Gospel in which the twelve-year-old Jesus debates theology with the Jewish scribes in the Temple at Jerusalem. His parents, who have found him after a long search, look somewhat dejected. The Temple is represented by a Renaissance church interior with a menorah and the Ark of the Covenant in the background.
The left wing shows Ambrose, the patron saint of Antwerp's schoolmasters, baptising St Augustine in the presence of a canon-scholaster and several council members from the Schoolmasters' Guild. The only reference to the Soap-boilers is in the right wing, where the Bible story of the Miracle of the Flowing Oil is depicted. The prophet Elisha helped the widow of Zarephath out of debt by causing her oil jug to continuously replenish itself - an appropriate theme, for oil was one of the ingredients used by the soap-boilers.
The style of the triptych is sober and didactic, as befits the schoolmasters, if not the soapmakers. The balanced composition with its symmetrically arranged groups and the restrained presentation of the principal theme, without many secondary scenes or symbols, is characteristic of the Italian Renaissance, the latest artistic trend at the time.

O óleo de Abacate pode ser utilizado para fins alimentícios e é tão
competitivo quanto o azeite de oliva, por ser rico em gorduras
insaturadas e vitamina E. O aumento da produção mundial poderia
permitir o refino de óleo de abacate e utilização para fins
comestíveis em maior escala.
O Óleo de Abacate é aplicado principalmente pela indústria
farmacêutica e cosmética. Mas também tem várias finalidades como
alimentícia, na culinária, em cremes para face e mãos, em produtos
para a pele, produtos para tratamento de estrias e rugas e é bastante
usado em vários tipos de massagens, devido ser um óleo que penetra
fundo nos tecidos deixando a pele macia e nutrida. Apresenta alta
absorção de raios ultravioleta agindo como potente filtro solar.

Hollyberry Shea Butter Handmade Natural Soap

Silver Dollar City is a theme park in the state of Missouri. Opened on May 1, 1960, the park is located between Branson and Branson West off of Missouri Route 76 on the Indian Point peninsula of Table Rock Lake. The park is an 1880s-themed experience that fits Branson's vision as a family-friendly vacation destination with down-home charm. Silver Dollar City's operating season runs from mid-March until late December, with the park closed during the months of January and February. Silver Dollar City is owned by the Herschend Family Entertainment, which owns, operates or partners in 25 properties in 10 states and includes the nearby water park, White Water; water excursion and theatre, the Showboat Branson Belle; water and land tour attraction Ride the Ducks. The park gained much public notice when the Clampett family of CBS-TV's The Beverly Hillbillies decided to pay a visit to Silver Dollar City (treated as an actual town, rather than a theme park) to start off the 1969-1970 season. The plotline involved Granny (Irene Ryan) attempting to find a husband for Elly May (Donna Douglas) back in the hills, while Jed (Buddy Ebsen) socialized with hotel clerk Shorty Kellems (Shug Fisher). They visited the blacksmith Shad Heller, soapmaker Granny Ethel Huffman, and woodcarver Peter Engler, and Miss Hathaway (Nancy Kulp) was seen in the Ozark woods. The Hillbillies were from the area surrounding Silver Dollar City and Branson, and references to Jim Owens and his White River float trip business and some Missouri mountain locations were made throughout the show's nine-year run. Five episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies were eventually shot in the park. 7/23/16

It's good to let your soap air out between uses for a longer lasting bar. Store your handmade soaps in a cool dry place letting them breathe. I cut mine in quarters to make them last longer :-) and this way I can use a different soap everyday - yay me!
Hand crafted soaps are so good for your skin. No added chemicals and all the natural glycerin is retained. I'll never go back to buying store bought chemically infiltrated soaps.

Um óleo que comprei e demorei para usar.....muito forte, cheiro de resina, que ardia no nariz......mas aí fui colocando uma gota disso, tres gotas daquilo.....e ficou um dos sabonetes mais gostosos que já fiz.....aroma que nos faz entrar em uma floresta, pouco antes do amanhecer: madeira fresca, folhas orvalhadas, a neblina se dissipando.....de mato fresco, de musgo de carvalho....

Tea Tree Oil Oatmeal Clay and Aloe Ball Handmade Soap
Oatmeal Tea Tree base with balls of: French Green Clay, Rhassoul Clay, Cucumber Aloe Vera and Castille. This soap is so nice looking and loaded with goodness! The oatmeal will gently exfoliate and soothe your skin.
You will receive 1 bar approximately 3.5 + ounces.
It's good (actually crucial - love that word) to let your soap air out between uses for a longer lasting bar. Store your handmade soaps in a cool dry place letting them breathe. Very, very important for handmade soap! You don't want your soap absorbing every last bit of water it touches. I cut mine in quarters to make them last longer :-) and this way I can use a different soap everyday - yay me!

Lil ol' Yarmouth had an amazing yarn/craft shop... Hands on Crafts on Main Street. Tons of great yarn, plus supplies for every other craft you can think of! Annie is a soapmaker, and she gets her supplies here. There was also a demo going on about lantern glass beadmaking. Great shop!
Green Tea Handmade Natural Soap
I have used green tea fragrance oil and extract to create this bar of natural olive oil soap. Unrefined shea butter, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil have been added for enrichment!
Making soap with organic carrot juice, wheat germ oil and a few other oils. The wheat germ oil is a beautiful amber color. I am hoping this soap holds it's orange hue as it heats up and goes into its gel stage. Should be interesting to cut it tomorrow!

Unmolded and sliced the soap today, looks great! I am wondering if it will become ligher in the middle or darker as the soap cures....my guess is lighter as the extra water evaporates out of the soap....
This is unscented and will be curing for the next 4 weeks or so..then to my shop!
