This toothpaste soap actually started out as a custom order. After researching the 'said' benefits of using handmade soap to clean your teeth I thought I'd better give it a try for myself. I'm so glad I did. My teeth DO feel cleaner, I could actually feel the difference after my first brushing! And, I feel a lot safer using soap that I've made and with ingredients that I can actually pronounce! Although I'm going to have to get used to the taste (it is in fact soap). I feel so much better using a natural toothpaste, umm I mean teethsoap. I've already thrown my shampoo and conditioner to the wind and am very thankful for my custom toothsoap order that has opened my eyes :-)

Here's a few things I've found out about using tradional toothpaste.

Fluoride is: toxic, once used as a rat poisoning and insecticide, a pollutant made of aluminum by products, can actually cause your teeth to crumble in large doses!

Souce: www.ghchealth.com/where-the-yellow-went.html

After reading all this crazy stuff on toothpaste my husband, who I would NEVER in a million years think would do want to switch (on his own), has decided to toss the toothpaste back to the chemical gods!

What does my teethsoap contain?

Oils of Coconut, Palm, and Olive - saponified.

Olive Oil Infused with Cinnamon (flavor)

Peppermint Essential Oil (flavor)

Titanium Dioxide, natural teeth whitener.

Directions: Wet your toothbrush and swipe the teethsoap bar a couple of times. Brusha brusha brusha, and rinse about 3 times. Spit, don't swallow it. All done! Oh and by the way, you can wash with it too!

I'm not a doctor and make no medical claims. You can just search for 'toothpaste soap' and find a lot more info online. Thank you :-)

Acnes - Espinhas - Peles secas - Peles cansadas - Auxilia no combate a pisoriase - Auxilia no combate a erisipela.

Curiosidade:

This Corona Lime polka dot soap is made with real beer! Nothing but the goodness of beer, beer, beer in here. Beer is good for your skin and hair. To the top I've added lime fragrance oil and enriched the whole darn thing with shea butter, liquid glycerin, castor oil and avocado oil! Full of moisturizing goodness :-)

You will receive one bar of appoximately 4.5+ ounces.

I use my soap as shampoo bars as well. It's a fun way to get clean from head to toe in one fell swoop ~ schwooosh! I then use a (very light) jojoba oil, shea butter and avocado butter mixture about every three days. I have very long, curly, unmanageable, frizzy, gnarly hair... and it actually pleases me. Not to mention no chemicals left to leech their way into my scalp! See how I smile in my pic? All because of natural remedies :-)

My method: Lather up a wash cloth really REALLY good and squeeze it out onto your hair. This is easier then trying to lather your hands and then transfer. Scrub it up and use the remainder for your body. Close your eyes for the hair part though - or ouch! Then rinse and you are all done. You've saved water, time and smell great too. Ah…

*I only use my 'plain' soap bars for shampoo bars. I don't use any soaps that have clay, or oatmeal, coffee, poppy seeds, flowers, herbs… etc. You get the picture right? I don't want anything leftover hanging around making me look silly.

It's good to let your soap air out between uses for a longer lasting bar. Store your handmade soaps in a cool dry place letting them breathe. I cut mine in quarters to make them last longer :-) and this way I can use a different soap everyday - yay me!

Hand crafted soaps are so good for your skin. No added chemicals and all the natural glycerin is retained. I'll never go back to buying store bought chemically infiltrated soaps.

A vintage vitreous enamelled metal advertising sign for "Sunlight" soap which, according to the advert, actually saves time. How it does so is not specified. It also claims that they are soapmakers to the Queen, although I doubt that she actually used any of it!

This sign was seen in the National Railway Museum at Shildon and was part of a February/March 2011 exhibition of Victorian/Edwardian vitreous enamel signs from the Andrew Morley collection.

Silver Dollar City is a theme park in the state of Missouri. Opened on May 1, 1960, the park is located between Branson and Branson West off of Missouri Route 76 on the Indian Point peninsula of Table Rock Lake. The park is an 1880s-themed experience that fits Branson's vision as a family-friendly vacation destination with down-home charm. Silver Dollar City's operating season runs from mid-March until late December, with the park closed during the months of January and February. Silver Dollar City is owned by the Herschend Family Entertainment, which owns, operates or partners in 25 properties in 10 states and includes the nearby water park, White Water; water excursion and theatre, the Showboat Branson Belle; water and land tour attraction Ride the Ducks. The park gained much public notice when the Clampett family of CBS-TV's The Beverly Hillbillies decided to pay a visit to Silver Dollar City (treated as an actual town, rather than a theme park) to start off the 1969-1970 season. The plotline involved Granny (Irene Ryan) attempting to find a husband for Elly May (Donna Douglas) back in the hills, while Jed (Buddy Ebsen) socialized with hotel clerk Shorty Kellems (Shug Fisher). They visited the blacksmith Shad Heller, soapmaker Granny Ethel Huffman, and woodcarver Peter Engler, and Miss Hathaway (Nancy Kulp) was seen in the Ozark woods. The Hillbillies were from the area surrounding Silver Dollar City and Branson, and references to Jim Owens and his White River float trip business and some Missouri mountain locations were made throughout the show's nine-year run. Five episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies were eventually shot in the park. 7/23/16

This soap was supposed to be pink and green… Umm it's not. It's fragranced with Watermelon Fragrance Oil which smells more melon to me than watermelon. Finally, that's where prison soaps come from after all!

"Marseille soap or Savon de Marseille is a traditional soap made from vegetable oils that has been made around Marseille, France, for about 600 years, the first documented soapmaker in the area being recorded in about 1370. By 1688, Louis XIV introduced regulations limiting the use of the name savon de Marseille to soaps made in and around the Marseille area, and only from olive oil. Today this law still applies, although the regulations now allow other vegetable oils to be used."

These are pictures from the craft show I did this past weekend at the Gledhill Nursery in West Hartford, CT. The location of this show was beautiful - I can't imagine what it would be like to live here. They had classical music playing in the background and there was such a nice mix of artists from potters, to soapmakers, to glass artists to this artist from Windsor who made these beautiful curtain tie backs out of salt shakers.

I can't wait to do this show again. It rained for about an hour and a half on Saturday, but by Sunday you couldn't ask for more beautiful weather
