Here in Denmark June 11 is traditionally called the "Devil's Birthday". It's also raining, so what better than staying inside...

This bear was in a tree fifteen feet off of the ground. The tree was only a few feet from the Cades Cove eleven mile loop road. Two park rangers were at the road directing traffic to keep the cars moving and keep dumb tourists away from the bear. Cones were set up in a field nearby 50 yards from the bear. This is where about twenty five people were snapping pictures. This is where I shot my pics. I used the crop sensor camera for extra reach. I shot this image around 9:30 in the morning. My wife dropped me off and she drove ahead to find a parking spot. We spotted 3 bears on this drive and returned around 8 hours later. This bear was still in the tree sleeping. I dropped my wife off so she could get some snapshots (cellphone) and drove ahead to park. Park rangers were still there and would stay until the bear left. We would see 2 more bears, 1 close but in heavy brush and a faraway bear.
These two ducks were trying to have a midday snooze but all these humans were gawking at them. However, they did like to be close to each other. HWW. 996 infections and 9 deaths today
Miss Maisie has had a busy week, so popped herself up on her floating bed, under the curtain and snoozed her Sunday away...well actually we all napped. And instead of cleaning and tidying my flat I am flickering... once again! Someone please stop me! LOL.
The last of the few pictures I have of Phoebe. She was 4 cats ago!
At this point, I wasn't back into photography yet and just had a 1MP Sony Mavica. I didn't use it very often.

Nature at its very best.
I was lucky today to spot this snoozing Tawny Owl.
It was so well camouflaged I had to zoom right in to see if it was indeed an Owl.
That's hubby having a snooze.
Last year's pic of the back garden flower pots
I planted. The geraniums survived to this year and fully in bloom again, but the rest I have to start over again.
I do plant flower in pots as my place has been infested with snails and slugs that eat up my summer flowering annuals. I don't use pesticides as i don't like to poison small wildlife i.e.,birds, hedgehogs which frequently visit the garden,or many of the resident lizards "slow worms" in the garden.
Gardening is like photography for me and can sometimes be an obsession. When I'm on it, I wish not to stop as it feels good when I see the blooms or I can make salads out of those salads I planted, taste better than ones I bought. Maybe it's psychological. But definitely gardening is stress relieving for those who love it.
