I don't have a blender and the ice doesn't crush very well in a Magic Bullet.
When he's very proud of himself, or very mad, he sticks out his bottom jaw like this. He's currently proud of his smoothie mess.
Well it finally happened, someone finally decided to throw down the challenge and nominate me to dump iced water over myself.
Now I took some heat that I should have stood on the grass or what not to water it, well the water itself is already grey water as in it is not for human consumption, as it was collected as rain water, so it would have went to the gutter to begin with.
Second people are crying fowl that the executives at the society are making off like bandits. Well I do now know if they really are or if they are really not. I just know that this challenge has gone viral and has helped to raise awareness to this disease. If you do not want to donate to this, currently there is an Ebola outbreak in Africa, please send dollars that way, altho there is probably a society with people up top who will take the charitable money and pay themselves.
So where does that put us? Back full circle of we are damned if we do and damned if we dont. Well I got news for all you tax payers (everyone over 18 and makes more than 3000 a year), how much money does your MP make? Did you know that you donate to their salary every paycheque?
How is that even better? The only difference is one is mandatory and the other is voluntary.
Anyways enough ranting, I flipped the bucket issued the challenge to others and went home and assembled my newly acquired grill, cannot wait to get some fat juicy steaks on there.
Oh yea the smoothie, today's was extra thick for some reason, I sort of tasted almond, perhaps wifey placed a whooping scoop of almond butter in it? None the less I slurped it down!
While I was making this, I kept thinking about the McDonald's smoothie commercial where people in white throw balloons full of pink and yellow paint at each other.

So I made 49 little hats out my scrap bits of wool. For Innocent Smoothie's charity knitting project - each hat gives 50p for Help the Aged.
This kale, all of it just GREW there, in my garden, from the compost we used. It is DELICIOUS! Also grew from the compost without my planting them: letttuce, red amaranth, chard and tomatoes. Oh, and fennel. Woot!
I've seen so many different green smoothies on the interwebs recently, I had to try one for myself. This is a combination of frozen mango and pineapple with fresh banana and baby spinach.
I didn't think I could get past the spinach with the fruit, but it was *so good.*
This batch was enough for both Mr. M and me to have for breakfast.

As you can see todays delectable smoothie was not green enough, due to a lack of greens, note to self, must stock up.

Anyways not much to report, little one has become a monkey as he can climb out of his crib now, I see him asking for the keys to the matrix soon. (16 years from now) Which is fine by me as long as he drives mommy and daddys crappy car over their nice car.
What I forgot to mention the other day was that wifey and I watched an episode of Orange is the new Black, a netflix only series, oddly enough it is based on a true story altho some of the situations of course have to have been fictionalized. But from my understanding is that show is based on the experiences of women who was busted for trafficking drug money or something on the lines of that. She had to serve 15 months in womens prison.
The show has promise, altho the many flashback scenes from the pilot seemed to have the show drag on for a while. Wifey said it was ok but indicated that she would watch more since it is based on a true story.
Anywho we are heading home first thing tomorrow, hopefully we don't get hosed by the ferry system which I owe so love... (sarcasm) wish us luck!
i don't know that i've ever met anyone with as much style as jordana. her smile is incredibly infectious, and to be around her is simply to bask in her light. she's smart and funny and kind and effusive and articulate and appreciative of all that surrounds her. she speaks her mind (which i love), and she just makes a room (be it indoors or out) a brighter, richer place.
that smoothie is one very lucky dude.
