The trick to getting them all to look, more or less, at the same time was a well-timed "Walkies?"
Wee dog takes the lead while out on a walk with it's owner.**** Flickr tagged this wee dog as a CAT, their automatic tagging sucks but I thought if they tagged it as a cat I would put it in a cat site to make a point. Cat Luvers, enjoy this new breed of "cat". ****Thank you!
This week, I received an early birthday present by the name of 'Tink'! She's a beautiful 11 week old chihuahua, with a huge personality! She's settling in well here, and getting used to having a camera pointed at her!
03.15.21 - Sweet Pea was bathed in soft window light - thus a photo was a must - but she became bashful and turned her head.
Yes, by all (most) measures it is way too early for Christmas themed images, but... I started photographing the neighborhood dogs in my "studio" (aka corner of the garage) and I kind of love it. More dogs to come!
My bff died yesterday.
I don’t have words. Not yet. I will—but today is for howling with rage and grimacing from the ragged laceration of grief, the sting, the disbelief. Raging against the dying of my friend Susan’s blinding, badass, beautiful light.
My.
BFF.
Died.
Yesterday.
I don’t know what to do with this. I don’t know how to do this.
I don’t know.
Thank you to my friends who’ve reached out, knowing our storied 17-year history. All my love right now goes to Mr. Susan for being her person, steadfast and true, and her daughter, whom she loved with a fire brighter than the sun.
I have so many portraits I’ve taken of her over the years. I found myself downloading them all this morning, before I knew she’d passed.
I’ll post this one now, because it’s perfect, and because she’d find it hilarious and awful and she’d beg me to take it down and then ask me put it back up, because that’s Susan. And I fucking love her for it.
I can’t do the past tense yet. It’s not real.
My bff died yesterday.
Also, FUCK CANCER RIGHT IN THE MOTHERFUCKING TEETH.
Un cachorro yace debajo de un "almendrón"; como los propios cubanos llaman a este tipo de coches. La magnitud del coche hace empequeñecer aún más a este pequeño perro cuyo destino parece incierto.
A dog lies under an "almendrón"; as the Cubans themselves call these types of cars. The magnitude of the car further dwarfs this little dog whose fate seems uncertain.
Totally safely done with Kool Aid. Kylo my 11 month (will be 1 year old on Nov 1st) male Chihuahua/Yorkie/Shitzu mix.

Capture the heartwarming bond of friendship with this delightful portrait of a big and small dog sitting together on a soft bed of moss in the forest. The big dog is lying down, while the small dog sits by its side, both looking at the camera with big, joyful smiles. Surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the woods, this scene radiates warmth, companionship, and the simple joys of being in nature.

Donna took her to our vet and got a chip reading. I played lookout and saw folks who appeared to be looking for something. Just as I told them we had her, Donna returned.
Quirky little one. Almost as big as our Sugar. That would put her at 12 - 14 pounds.
Be Kind to Little Creatures - While out in the neighborhood shooting photos of the blooming cactus flowers I saw a woman walking her little Teacup chihuaua puppy. She agreed to quick photos but the sun was so very bright and the temperature in the mid nineties, so she thought to give her puppy a quick drink. A great idea to always carry water with you, needed for humans and puppies out walking in the heat.
Meet Alice the daschund. Very tiny, very cute. Down at her level taking photos must have intrigued her - she kept coming over to lick my nose!

All of my Chihuahuas have been "working breed", in the sense that they have accompanied me to my various jobs, starting with Perlita in 1993: I got her on a Saturday, and on Monday we went to work. At times I have brought three Chis with me to the office. I can't imagine going somewhere every day and not bringing them; I have turned down job offers at places where dogs were not allowed. Co-workers and employers also enjoy the dog-time, and my pups make the rounds of laps (and licking noses). Here's Pico in the sheet metal shop - Berkeley, CA - March 2016
I had the dogs out in the backyard. Toby came to the door, ready to come in. I was able to snap a photo of him standing. As I got closer to the door, he was on all fours, and looking at me! Ready to come in and get fed. Gracie and Dylan came up behind him in a minute! 🐶💕🐶💕
You wanted to take my portrait, well here it is. I hope you like it. It was really up close and personal, but he did not seem to mind.
This photo is straight from my camera, no editing.
The elevator opens and 2 dogs look at each other. One outside and the other inside. At the moment our huge apartment building has only 1 elevator!
