Commisioned stencil piece as a gift for Xmas 2006 - the two hounds

Queen of Hearts ~ This unique costume is custom tailored for a small dog. This costume includes a gold crown, a rhinestone & black satin muzzle, a dress, adorable pink underpants, lace cuffs and a dog-bone scepter.

He was viciously begging for dog treats from the great HVAC techs putting in the new unit. Every time they came through he would jump immediately from a deep sleep! So funny to watch!

you can see her little mohawk a bit.

Which way did that squirrel go?

she says we look better like this.

The tiniest Jack Russel in all of christendom (maybe). But, lest you be fooled by it's cute look and miniscule stature, I must inform you that this dog is an EVIL and VIOLENT creature of HATE. No, really.

the face belongs to smilla, the hand belongs to smalldogs. she's the only person, in almost 14 years, on whose lap smilla settled herself (other than mine). smilla is my shadow, my familiar; she stands guard next to my pillow at night, curls up in my armpit when it's cold, waits at my feet when i'm on the can.

she's in the hospital right now, with raggedy breathing, a squeaky meow, and rapid weight loss. they're doing a bunch of tests, and we should find out later today what's up.

waking up this morning without her in the house was weird and unsettling.

we lost harvey less than three months ago.

i'm not ready for this.

UPDATE:

just talked to the vet -- they couldn't find anything, all her bloodwork is normal, chest xray is fine. gonna start feeding her protein-rich wet food, put her on a round of antibiotics and monitor her.

WHEW.

thanks for all the love!

I haven't been around flickr for ages... it has been a bumpy ride this year. Pressure at work for the first months, then I lost my job in May, I am still looking for something else :(

I seem to have messed up my camera too - all my photos taken with my DSLR are covered in marks, I have cleaned the lens to no avail, I guess I need to get the sensor cleaned and hope that is the problem... this was taken with my point and shoot.

And to add to the challenges this year, I was out hiking in the mountains at the beginning of the month, and Toby got attacked by donkeys! Yes, donkeys!! He was relatively "lucky" as he got away with just a fractured leg, it is the leg that had already been messed up when he was a puppy, but it has led to a bunch of unexpected vet's visits :(

But flickr is such an amazing place, and the lovely Susan has set up a chip-in to help us out... I can't believe how kind and wonderful so many people are :)

Oliver the dog is camera shy unless you have a pizza in your lap. I made a new best friend. <3

Washington St

They came down 1988,

Thousand spacecraft like petals on the earth,

And they had big eyes,

And they watched like spies

Til they found someone who no one would believe.

There you were in your underwear,

All alone drawing comics for your church.

And we took you up, and we put you under

Placed you on a table for observation.

Give me a deep kiss, I am longing for distraction.

Let me touch your tits, and keep you occupied.

If this comes as some surprise, I am an alien.

To observe you I must keep you stoned.

There you lie with your doped up eyes.

Staring past the one who could love you like a Christ.

You see, that's just the way that it is up here,

But I cannot meddle, I will not interfere.

Meet me in the park some time after the night comes.

You will see a star that shines like silver, smells like gold.

Follow it through fields and hills and to the landing pad.

You will give birth to an alien like me.

Small cute doggies..

…while she and I waited for (daughter) Amanda to pick up a couple prescriptions at our new Kroger. Note: her harness is actually a light violet hue, but my software wouldn’t let me get to it.

Dogs love to pee on snowmen. I think it's science.

This is a photo of the dog in the previous slide obviously jumping for a treat his owner, and my friend, Ron was luring him with. You can see that Ron was not living in the luxury then that he enjoys today. We all pay our dues in some way or another. This is a scan of a film negative I exposed in July of 1977 with my Nikon FE. After converting the film negative to digital, the crop would not have included the phone at the bottom of the photo. Since I considered the telephone an important element to this photo, I cloned it higher in the digital image to appear in this final edited version of film negative taken nearly 40 years prior. I was able to take photos of Ron and his project because he was remodeling during summer vacation from teaching and I was working graveyard at nearby San Francisco Airport and had probably just gotten off work.

Com on son you can do it stand up !

Charlie lavishes compliments on Puddin', feeding that diva-sized ego she's developing.
