Today was a slog! It was a LOOOONNNNNGGGGGG Road Trip Day which was made even longer by forest fires which closed the Hwy 138 to Crater Lake. We had to adjust our route and we still made it to Crater Lake (so damn beautiful) but we didn't make it to Tahoe until almost 11 p.m. I don't think I've ever slept so hard! Luckily none of our other days will have so much driving but they will have just as much fun!

Den brittiske konstnären Tony Cragg slog igenom som konstnär i slutet av 70-talet med verk som tillverkades av upphittade objekt som industriavfall och plast. På senare år har han gått över till mer traditionella material som brons, trä och marmor.
Tony Cragg vann 1988 Turnerpriset och är representerad på bl a Tate Modern i London. Tony Cragg är född i England, men lever och verkar sedan 1977 i Wuppertal i Tyskland.
Tony Cragg har även en konstnärsverkstad på Tjörn i Bohuslän där han även haft två utställningar under året.
A significant stretch of the course between water points 9 and 10 is known as the sand pit. If your legs weren't complaining before you hit the sand pit, they definitely are by the time you get out.

After a grinding slog through the forest, we finally see good fishing ahead. Next time we’ll know to stick to the main trail!

Pålsjöbaden slogs sönder i en storm 2011 och revs sommaren 2013. Efter ett långt renoveringsarbete står nu (2015) nybyggda Pålsjöbaden klar. Det nya badhuset är likt det gamla, men med ett par nyheter. Badhuset ligger en meter högre över vattenytan för att bättre möta framtida havsnivåhöjningar och stormar. Dessutom finns ett inglasat kafé i den nya anläggningen. Fox Belysning fick förtroendet att leverera alla utomhusarmaturer. Våra HLS ledpuckar är integrerade i broräcket och Buen väggarmatur monterade på husen...

After a hard day's slog through snow and rain, this refugio was a godsend. It was simple and not very luxurious but the owners were very kind. Owner got out extra blankets for everybody and tried to heat up the place (it was very cold).
Here in this Refugio in Alto do Poio I ate one of the best dinners on the camino (good home cooking by the grandmother) and it was one one of the best evenings on the whole camino - Irish, German, Italians, French, Canadians and of course plenty of Spaniards all in the little bar. There was a great fire going in the bar and it was lovely and cosy. During the night it snowed and snowed. This is a picture of my bed - the top one.
