A pound on this week . I'm fine with that - still 1.5lbs under my target weight

Today is the third anniversary of me starting my weight loss journey with Slimming World. Although I'm now slightly above my target weight at the moment, I'm still 42 lbs lighter than I was in 2014 :-)

Since I began my diet at the beginning of February, I've now lost 21lbs - that 1.5 stones or 10% of my bodyweight.

 

It's also the weight of an average car tyre....

1lb on.

 

The target remains elusive for now but I’ll return to this in earnest after my holiday… #accountability

Air Fried Chicken and chips

Over Christmas I organised a Chocolate Amnesty at my local Slimming World group where we all donated chocolates that we were given but which were going to be too much of a distraction...

 

Today I took them up to St Oswald's Hospice who will package them up into hampers and then raffle them off at local shops, pubs and businesses for Easter. Last year they raised £15000 doing that.

 

Apart from helping a great cause, I'm just pleased to get two huge bags of chocolates out of the house! :-P

Journalling reads: Ever get the impression that you have been here done that? Yeah, me too, especially when it comes to weight loss. I lost 2.5 stone with a combination of Slimming World while I was pregnant with Leia and Weight Watchers afterwards. Then life happened, and the reasons don’t really matter but I put all but 2lb of it back on again. Anyone will tell you that losing weight is hard and keeping it off is even harder. Excuses are easier to come by than motivation sometimes. But long story short, I reached a point where I was fast running out of clothes that fit, hating my body and I needed to rejoin Weight Watchers. I knew that I had to write myself some new rules to try and stay on track this time around. 1. Track everything as accurately as possible, good or bad. 2. There is no “only” allowed after weigh ins, “I only lost 0.5lb” etc. a loss is a loss and should be celebrated. 3. Expect the path to be bumpy and be prepared, slips happen and while I am only human, I know that a bad day doesn’t have to turn into a bad week/month, but it’s easy for that to happen if you don’t have the tools in place to stop it or pick up the pieces. 4. You need a really good reason to skip a meeting, and “I just don’t feel like it” won’t cut it. 5. Just because they are eating something doesn’t mean I have to, it’s fine to say no thank you to what Mark wants for dinner and make myself something even if it is cereal or soup. For me losing weight has to be about how I feel rather than how I look, but I am loving fitting back in this outfit again. 19/09/2014.

Slow and steady....

A lovely Slimming World friendly brunch of 3 slices of bacon (all fat cut off, natch) and a fried egg (done in FryLight) on a slice of toasted Nimble White with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light). "What about your third superfree?" I hear you cry in outrage! A punnet of cherries, scoffed before I got the camera ready.

1.5lbs off. 32lbs in total #accountability

Not normal Slimming World food but it was weigh in tonight and I lost 5lb so figured I deserved it.

Porky pig quiches

 

12 muffin cases (silicon I used as non stick) or 2 muffin trays

12 squares of ham

1 pack of bacon, trim the fat off

5 medium eggs or 4 large

Tub of (virtually) fat free cottage cheese

3rd of an onion

4 mushrooms

100g grated cheddar

6 cherry tomatoes

  

Line muffin cases with a slice of ham.

Fry off the chopped onion in some frylight 1cal spray

Put the bacon on to cook (health grill is best for fat to drain)

Throw in other vegetables into the frying pan minus the tomatoes.

Put beaten eggs and cottage cheese into a large jug and mix together with some herbs and mustard of your choice. Add grated cheese.

Chop up the crispy cooked bacon into the frying pan and stir around so everything picks up the bacon flavour.

Combine pan contents with jug contents into a mixing bowl and mix well. Spoon mixture into muffin cases and top with half a cherry tomato. Season and cook as you would a normal quiche. I used my microwave with a auto combi setting so we all have different ways of cooking.
