Fox visitor in the backyard during the sleet storm - HFF!

……Nah, put the hood up & keep walking! The sun was shining when we started honest!! There were a few people doing the same - cyclists & walkers alike. We covered about 5 miles and the sleet turned to full on snow and then back to sunshine, cold but a good walk. Have a great Sunday and be sure to stay Covid safe - protect yourself & help to protect others who may be more vulnerable. Alan;-)……

Woke up to sleet this morning, taken through my patio doors.

HFF and have a great weekend Flickr friends.

We've been having lots of sleet/snow showers but nothing is lying yet.

In case anyone needs a cool breeze this weekend…

Sleet and poor light on the day Tornado looking magnificent, hurries through Canley, Coventry, on The Red Rose, London Victoria to Shrewsbury steam charter.

I guess I should be SLOW because it was first half the day all sleet then sleet and snow then snow, Sneet is snow and sleet.

would have been nicer if it was just plain old snow - HSS

looks like it'll be a few more days before we can safely leave the house....frozen sleet covering everything....almost fell twice going out to the streetside mail box......results after 3 hours of melting.

Glencoe looking it's dreich best - I didn't get out of the car there were 70mph winds rain & sleet.

A dramatic sleet and snow storm over Loch Assynt. With a momentary hole in the clouds for the sun to create a cloud bow. Moments earlier a glorious rainbow arced over the loch. The building remains are Calda House the medieval fortified home of the Mackenzies. Love such wild and wicked weather.

Loch Assynt, Highland of Scotland.

To all my Flickr friends at this time ...Be Lucky, Be Well.

The city is shut down - while the weather wasn't anywhere near as bad as might have been given forecast, sleet fell all last night and the whole place is a skating rink. I spent some time watching birds out the back door, Tikki went out to see what she thought about the weather, and while she didn't find the sleet to be too slippery, I guess it was chilly and she came back in and stayed. It was probably around 17 degrees when I took this shot. So still having problems having fun (although I've given her some good snuggles In fact she is snuggling in my arms as I am typing this and reading the other entries for this upcoming Caturday.) Happy Caturday theme 24 December 2022, Having Fun.

My biannual profile picture update. My last one was all tattooed and modern but with this one I decided to hearken back to one of my elder vampire lord titles, The Bone Death.

Yes, I really AM that pretentious. Still. I'm not even sorry.

Death Valley. On the road to Racetrack Playa. Sleet coming out of the sky.

This view is looking back down the ridge to Sleet How as we walked up to Grisedale Pike To get a sense of scale look down the ridge footpath and you will see two men pushing cycles. I'll say no more!

Probably thinking about the snow and winter to come...not a happy camper.

Our Blue Jays are not nearly as brave as folks say they are.... well, maybe in the city they are a bit more wary? I find them pretty skittish ... he knew I was there and just hopped onto the nut holder, grabbed a big nut and left ... several times. They are so fast and grab a nut from the packed holder in jig time. This time..he actually just sat there on the fence top for a few seconds.....

Climbing the last part of the path onto Grisedale Pike from Braithwaite over Kinn in the Lake District National Park, England

To get a sense of scale you will see people further up the path and a group emerging just to the left of the top.

2-8-2 class K-36 487 wheels slipping barks up Cumbres Pass through a late September deluge of every type of precipitation imaginable. The Denver and Rio Grande Western K-36 class are ten 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge, Mikado type, 2-8-2 steam locomotives built for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad (DRGW) by Baldwin Locomotive Works. They were shipped to the Rio Grande in 1925, and were first used along the Monarch Branch and Marshall Pass, but were later sent to the Third Division out of Alamosa. Of the original ten, four are owned by the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (D&SNG) and five by the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad (C&TS). . This was off camera b on tripod while my other was handheld. A good testament to quality weather sealed gear, torrential down pours mixing between rail, super cooled rain, snow, sleet, and soft hail filled this experience a 1/4 mile walk down the right of way from Cumbres grade crossing.

Here's one of the amazing ice formations ensconcing the Lake Michigan shoreline in Chicago this winter.

No, it's not the postman: He doesn't move that fast. If you thought bicycling was for dry weather, well, clearly you thought wrong.

Snow in Atlanta! 40F. Quite a bit above freezing. It's only sticking because it sleeted first. Mostly what you're seeing here is sleet. Just a light coating of snow. Camellia buds.

Taken on a stroll along the sea front at Littlehaven, South Shields. All four seasons in about 2 hours. Sun, Rain, Hail, sleet and of course the wind...

Herd Groyne Lighthouse, River Tyne, South Shields.

This very unusual lighthouse resembling a 1940's sci-fi movie space craft is located on a small groyne in the river mouth at South Shields.

It was built in 1882 and was at the mouth of the river before the north and south piers were built. It still acts as a navigational aid to ships entering the River Tyne.

I hate sleet. All of the downsides of rain and none of the charm of snow. And it makes me clip the tops of the buses. This was a year ago but it was just like that yesterday. When will winter end

Sleet fell, High Dodd and Place Fell viewed from Hallin Fell on a cold but glorious morning. The white higher tops of the lakes above Glennridding including Hellvellyn in the background.

Happy St David's day everyone.

Winter shadows in the snow....appears to be snow but is actually frozen sleet. (Residence across the street)

Just when we thought it safe to come out of hiding

Sleet that will turn into rain later in the evening.

Taken from a hide a few weeks back - in snow, sleet, rain & wind!! It was damn cold too!!! All good fun!!

Was due to go to Bamburgh this morning but having to drive in the snow on un gritted roads early on, I chose not to venture the extra 10 miles or so and again visited my favourite beach and castle, plus the fact the snow and sleet was going to be behind me on Bamburgh beach, I knew I had some shade from one of the beach huts here at Embleton Bay
